    Default Got a '69 Mach 1

Found it at the Charlotte Auto Fair. I have the Marti report, and it's a true 'M' code Mach 1. Already got my title back too. Oh and for those that aren't code savy, the 'M' code is a 351 4V.

    Yeah, yeah, yeah.....whatever......

Seriously though, congrats! Looks pretty much original. Fairly solid? Many options?
One day maybe I'll have one too.

Even a good color, you suck! I seriously still want one of those one of these days.

First Generation, that's right up my alley. If it still has the engine/trans, that car's worth 7G's all day long. At one time, M codes were quite common in my area; they'd always have the FMX auto and Air. Nice snag

It has a LOT of rust. The frame rails are decent except the front passenger side. It doesn't seem to have a lot of options IMO. I also only have the base Marti report, not the detailed one.

I wish my wife agreed. She thinks it looks like a junk yard. In the center background is my '71 Torino GT that I've done absolutely nothing with, except get it running and move around the yard. http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...!-71-Torino-GT

Does she run and drive? I found a similar one, still with the original owner, for $7000.

Sweet. TopLoader? If not convert it to a T5. I gave up on my TopLoader and went T5. Runs too hot on the highway trying to keep up with modern traffic without an overdrive gear. Now my fastback is a monster.

Nice find! I have a 70 model coupe I've been tinkering with. Not even same league as mach 1 fastback, but for restoration purposes they're the same. I'm getting ready to tackle some major trunk rust, then on to floor pans. 302 auto car, but may do t5 swap later on. Found some good seats. Most of the interior and trim is there. Have fun with that thing! Love to follow along. If you do a build thread, shoot me a link!

If the body's that bad, buy yourself a Dynacorn body and start over. You've got the all-important VIN. That's probably my only ticket if i ever want to join the club. Buy a rotted out car and new body.

What was the price on that dynacorn body?

"CJ Pony's Low Price" is $18,499.99. The price of admission to the muscle car club ain't cheap. That would be why it'll probably always be beyond my reach.

That was a steal if it was a true Mach 1 that runs and drives, especially if it had the M code instead of the 2v or 302. If you look at "Sold" listings on ebay, true Mach 1s that are complete sell starting at 10k unrestored. About the only Mach 1's you see for 5k or less don't have a title. Now you can buy base model sportsroofs/fastbacks for 2-3k. I actually didn't buy this one. I traded my '70 Sportsroof for it.

Nice! If you have the title, then you can definitely make money off of it. You can get titles, but here in SC, they have gotten really strict over the last few years. Its getting hard to get titles.

I can't remember. I know its a manual, but I think it had the 3 speed.

I don't understand. What do you mean about the car club admission?

I traded my '70 sportsroof for this. It was originally a base model with the I-6. I had a 351w in it that would crank and run, but it wasn't drivable yet. I will definitely send you the link when I start the build, but i'll probably be a couple years. Lol. I gotta finish my '82 first, which is waiting on a house/garage. We applied last week for a construction loan to build a house. 3 bay garage in it. One is my wifes, and the other 2 are for the '82 and '69. I'll just park in the driveway. Lol.

I just mean if you want to be among the people that own a nice, real muscle car, it's a very expensive proposition thanks to your friends at the big auctions who decided to make them into yet another way rich people can show us all just how rich they are.
