    Default 1985 Mercury hatch emblem

I just noticed that in 85, there were 2 different style Mercury emblems used on the Capri hatch.
version 1 has the lettering filled in with black on the C & the "loops" in the upper R's
version 2 has no plastic fill in around the C & the R "loops".
Both versions have the E filled in

anyone know why? I have seen 1 car have version 1 & another produced 4 cars later on production line with version 2.

anyone have part #'s on these?

so which does your 85 Capri have?

I also like version 2 better, but I can't vote cause I'm not a Capri owner. I do think that anytime you post (1985 Motorsport Capri) you should be required to show a picture of your car. That should be an FEP tenant or rule. That Motorsport Capri is easily the coolest Capri ever made, and it's top 5 coolest fox imo (the other 4 spots are filled up with Saleens and Esco's GT).
    Cheers!

    I'd call that a tease.

I honestly don't remember what the factory emblem looked like. There is a guy who sells factory emblems at the Ford Swap Meet in Columbus, Ohio. It is next weekend, so I'll do some investigating. I really need to get a GPIV, or build a tribute car.

I have two '85s and I have no idea without looking. I will go out to the shop tomorrow to check.
