I plan to replace the ponys with 10 holes, short throw shifter, re-install the pypes mufflers, (previous owner replaced them with flowmaster 40 series) and a few other odds and ends.
I don't think they are recaros, they have the halo head rest.

You might be right, but the pleating on the lower cushion doesn't look right to me for the sport seats and the shape of the foam near the console looked more like the Recaro shape to me . . .
I am sure a headrest picture will put the question to rest.

After looking closer at the first picture, the seats do appear to be sport seats due to the halo headrests. So I stand corrected once again!

I added another picture, you can see the halo's clearly. I was told by the PO they are recovered 86GT seats. They look just like what I removed from my 86 GT. I plan to re-foam and re-cover the seats out of my 86, in the mean time seats out of an 87 GT look ok and they feel so much better. The bottom of the 86 original driver seat is badly worn.
