    Default 1983 Thunderbird Marti Report

Thought I'd share my 83 TBird Marti report. Looks like Lorain was working hard and ahead of schedule.

Thanks for posting. I haven't seen many Marti Reports for non-Mustangs. The Heritage model is a very cool car.

    You're welcome and thanks.

I don't recall seeing m(any) non-Mustang Marti reports either. Sure glad they are available.

As requested, here's a picture of the car that goes w/the Marti report. I kept the wire wheel covers on so it would match the report.

That's another beauty, but of a different type. The TC you have screams performance, but this one just looks smooth and luxurious. Do you have some interior or front end pics?
    Cheers!

Just as Ford marketing described the two of them, performance and luxury.

Looks like I better get the camera out, couldn't find any good interior shots. Interior is equally as nice as the exterior.

In case you wanted just front end. I really like the lines of the car on a side shot.

It's a very pretty car. I love the TuTone paint. I bet a set of clear headlight covers would really look nice on either of your birds. Motorsport made some high quality light covers back in the day. OtherwiseI wouldn't change a thing...well maybe those wheel covers, but I get why you're running them. Some TRX'S or 10-holes (and maybe a set of mesh) would look great on this one. But again, I get the originality of the wire hub caps.

You really have some nice birds.
    Cheers!

    Thanks again.

Funny you should mention clear headlight covers. As you can see, I bought a set from Ford Motorsport when the car was new and ran them for many years until one cracked. (Not to worry, I have a NOS set! )

Over the years I've toyed with the the idea of different wheels but just never got around to it. Now that the car is an 'antique/survivor' I'll probably just stick with keeping it original.

Owning the car for so long, the whitewalls and wire covers look right but that's just because I've grown accustomed to them. Through other people's eyes, it automatically looks outdated but I'm OK with that.

Not to say some day I'd pick up a nice set of wheels if I find something I like!

Car looks great, especially with the stock whitewalls and wire wheel covers.

You'll never believe this, but there are some Motorsport headlight covers (for t-birds) on eBay right now! It's crazy cause I've never seen t- bird covers listed before and we were just talking about them. $50 bin, not bad:

    They have smoked as well:

Beautiful T-Bird. While looking at your Marti Report, I realized something; my Mustang and your T-Bird were built on the same day! Different plants, but still, April 22nd, 1983. Here's the link for mine http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...8-Marti-Report
P.S. The wire wheels/tires look awesome, keep them

Wow, unusual to see.... I have a set of each and must refrain from buying more. Smoked ones are already gone.

Cool! Thanks for the link. That's a nice car and great pics too. Any updates on it? When you get it restored we should get the car together for 'baby' pictures!

Thanks! I was thinking that too, maybe we can attend the Ford Nationals at some point and park them side-by-side. The fact that they were built the same day would generate a lot of interest.
