My Capri just got picked up for a full rotisserie restoration. Probably will lean on the group for those hard to get parts. If all goes well should be ready for summer. Can't wait!

We need pics of the progress. Can't wait to see it.
Only 102000kms (60000miles) but just a rolling chassis and lots of parts to start.
Just like a cat, it can hold on upside down.

Great progress! !!
Nice!! when u get it done we can start on its twin.
I restored my CC a few years ago, always turns heads.
There has been some people that asked about the color of the gold trim paint for like the front grill and things
The closest I came to was a GM color
1997 AZTEC GOLD MET
CODE: 9218
Metalic/iridescent content > 5grams/liter
VOC-LE:5.6 VOC-AP: 4.9
C9047K M
This is the info on the can.
I think it was for like rims because it was a very durable paint
Did not flake, fade, change color,or get pitted easyly
I could not tell the difference when I pulled next to another CC
TLennyRS
Thanks tlennyrs for the advice. From what I have found, the CC rims were not painted gold from the factory. Has anyone heard different?

Any Crimson Cat I've seen didn't have gold wheels. When new, mine did not have gold wheels either. Have seen them painted gold but never heard of them coming from the factory in gold. It wouldn't be the first time that there was a running change at the factory.
I don't know that they came gold but look really refurb 'd with gold
They do look good in gold but I'm doing a turntable restore and want to stay true to original.
I might be wrong, but the wheels look like they are gold with machine raised sections to me. I will have to look for a better photo.

Now I realize even more mine is missing.
No mention of gold wheels. Thanks
My 83 CC did not have gold wheels. I had the TRX wheels, but not gold.
After much investigation, I was able to confirm the CC wheels were never finished with gold accents. Just got the wheels back from refinishing and mounted new TRX tires. Now I think the tires may be gold plated for what they cost.

Finally starting to go back together. Although trying to stay as original as possible I'm taking some license with the engine since the car did not have the original motor. Tomorrow I'm ordering a 340 HP 5.0 litre Ford Racing crate engine.
The wheels look great! This is gonna be such a cool car when you're done. I don't think I've seen anyone fully restore a CC? It's about time!
Cheers!

Thanks TopGear. This type of restoration is a labour of love, not common sense. Will have three times the value invested when I'm done but to me it will be worth it.
Congrats, yes most of our cars are labors of love!! When all that hard work is done, sit back and enjoy!! Can't wait to see it finished....
