Thanks Dave, I did pass through your 'neck of the woods' back in late May, but alas, didn't really have any spare time to look you up!
Next time you're in town, drop me a line if time allows..

I find it amazing as well. Would have been really easy to scrap the hood since he no longer had the car. I just got it last year so he had it for awhile. It was in really good shape when I got it since it hadn't been on a car for so long. It was being stored in the furniture store.

Easy to see why you would be so excited to drive that 6-7 hours home. It is beautiful.

I purchased mine in 86 and have had it on the road since. I wonder how much I have spent in just insurance, registration and excise taxes of the years ?

So we know at least 65 Fox Capris are still around. I wonder how many more are in the FEP registry...

  12. #87

    Default

    I have in the database....

    52 - 1979 Capris
    34 - 1980 Capris
    34 - 1981 Capris
    80 - 1982 Capris
    104 - 1983 Capris
    95 - 1984 Capris
    412 - 1985 Capris (349 are ascMcLaren)
    192 - 1986 Capris (103 are ascMcLaren)
    1003 - total

If anyone here (not just in this thread or this forum, but anywhere on FEP) was kind enough to post their VIN/door tag/buck tag etc then they're in there, but I can't enter what I don't know... (hint, hint. ) The rest were captured from other forums, ebay, salvage auctions, etc.

I parted an 83 that was just too far gone, blue on blue four cylinder automatic car. I don't have the VIN, but I think SVOKip may still have the door I sold him haha!
1984 Mustang GT owned since 1991 (first car). Mercury Mountaineer GT-40P engine, some suspension mods, currently undergoing a five lug SN95 brake upgrade and more suspension mods. Some minor body and interior mods have been done as well.

Ha! While doing some last minute Christmas shopping today, what do I see in the mall parking lot? An '86 Capri! It was a 1E car, Maroon interior with Tilt whl, PW, 5.0L/5speed, and Air. It has to be a good 20 years since I've seen a Fox Capri out during a typical weekday[That would be cool if it belonged to somebody here on FEP]. Judging by condition, it was either still with its original owner, or maybe owner #2. It appeared slightly worn from age, but all-stock. I really liked it!

Default New to the stable for me ASC coupe

I just picked up another Eurocoupe last week to add to my ASC built Eurocoupe and full production car 046. This car was built at Northtowne Lincoln Mercury and was originally black and orange. That is a bullet hole in the drivers door it has not had a good life but isn't ready to be put out to pasture yet.

It was dyding under the trees since 10+ years when I bought it with my very first income at age 17, two miles far from home. Sold it in 2010, tracked it down and bought it back last summer. Went back on the road for the first time last week after a lot of TLC and this thing runs like a champ. Just needs floor pans, new coolant and the factory hubcaps back on once restored.

Comet72 what does the fender badging say? I am guessing that the 170 V6 is the 2.8L? Have to say that is very clean and very nice for a 79 good deal you could buy it back.

Oh sorry I meant 171ci, I always mix it with my 1970 Maverick and its 170ci inline 6. So yes that's the 2.8L. And thank you!

Here's how I found it where it was sitting since years:

And I wanted to keep the factory paint...so as you can guess Meguiar's (and elbow grease) helped me a lot on this one, haha!
