I have my 84 RS that is a WIP, but I hope to have up and running in the near future.

I also have an 82 Capri that is a major WIP still back in TX, but I don't have any pictures of it right now.

I bet it says "Capri 5.0L Package" in the equipment list.

At the beginning of the 1985 model year they all had "RS" in the bodyside molding. After production started, models sold in the US got the "RS" molding deleted and the model was also renamed "Capri 5.0L". Models in Canada continued to get the "RS" molding and continued to be called "Capri RS".

"FoxChassis" - Thanks for the info!!!

Yes, it does say "Capri 5.0L Package" on the equipment list on the Marti report.

Just seems odd that previous owner(s) put the GS badge on the back or did they come from the factory like that? The car appeared all original when I bought it with exception to collision repair to front-passenger side (which appears to be an odd situation in itself). Then again, someone did remove "Capri" from the hatch......

Either way..... its not going to be the same much longer.... may as well have been a 4 cyl rolling shell with all the modifications that have been/will be done.

    Ok, I'll play too......

Here's my 86 5.0L Capri with T5 and many upgrades. Owned for 14 years now.......many scratches, scrapes and stone chips, but a true road car in all sense of the word: fast enough to be fun, can tackle the worst twistie's, turn heads and return 20 to 28 mpg. Very much still on the road.

Also here is my fiance's 84 Capri RS t-top car. I actually bought it through the classifieds here on FEP over in Chickasha, OK. Stripped out all the old stuff, upgraded the front end and rear axle, then re-did the interior. So far she's happy driving it as a beater, but we'd like to do some bodywork then repaint it in nw Ford Tuxedo Black Metallic with the silver stripe along the bottom.

Great looking cars silverfive0! Did you buy your car in Carlisle? I thought I remember reading that once on here. I might have met the guy you bought it from. I bought an original '86 Capri hood from him and he mentioned he sold his car at Carlisle years ago and it had a cowl induction hood on it. Maybe my hood is from your car. That would be something.

YES!!! I bought my Capri at Spring Carlisle in 2000 from a guy who said his best friend bought it new and he knew everything about the car from the day it left the dealership. I don't remember his first name (I have paperwork around here with his first name) but remember his last name was Bartuska and his family owns a furniture store in PA. Odd things we remember, huh??

So you have my original hood?? Thats an odd coincidence but very cool!!! Thanks for sharing that info!!!

Here's my 'White' Black Magic, running the Aussie 250 2V head but now with the US inlet manifold. I just paid my Club Permit fees of $71.20 which allows me to use her for a maximum of 45 days per year. It's very cheap motoring and equates to giving her a run nearly once a week. For an extra $71.20, I can get an additional 45 days if I exhaust my initial 45 days. She just loves the open road!

That is the same guy. Denis Bartuska. Their furniture store has since closed. I saw the hood on craigslist and inquired about it as the ad had expired. He still had it and I met him at the furniture store and picked it up. It was about 4hrs from my house. I had it repainted and it is now on my car. My car had a 1983 hood on it and I really wanted an original '86 hood on it.

It is odd what we remember. That is a pretty neat coincidence. No problem sharing that info. Thought you might get a kick out of it.

I've got a 84 RS that is this cars twin. Only difference is wheels. Of course mine isn't this clean as we speak but I'm trying to get my ducks in a row to start working on it soon. I'll try to find some pics from back when I had it on the road.

fascat- Thats amazing to me that you ended up meeting with him and got the hood that was originally on my car. He never mentioned having the original hood...and I really don't remember asking him whatever happened to it!! At the moment, I was too excited knowing I was buying a Capri that I got to drive 6-7 hours home back to Ohio!!! LOL
