Maybe it's the lighting, but those wires don't look dark green to me, and that block looks very different from
mine. Can you make out any kind of symbol molded into it? Resistor would be like --/\/\/\/\/--. The one in
your photo looks to me more like the snubber diode for the A/C compressor clutch circuit. Diode would have
a symbol that looks like --|<--.
If you are slicing open the block to replace the resistor like I did, you won't have to worry about how little the
wiring stub is, 'cause you'll be pulling it all out. Once you connect the new resistor to the wires, and stuff it
back in the block, you'll have repaired the wiring problem.
If that block is what I think it is, and you don't end up cutting it open, I have repaired these by carefully slicing
about 1/4" off each end, without cutting through the wire insulation, and then splicing it back in.
