Default Question about a valve cover swap

These chrome Erson valve covers came on an 83 GT carbed 5.0 we are going to restore. I have somebody who wants them IF they will fit a fuel injected 5.0 in a 1988 F-150. Is the oil filler neck going to be an issue? Sorry its not a Fox specific question but I thought I would ask the knowledgeable members here. Thanks!

I had a set of Motorsport valve covers that were just like those and because they were set up for a carb'd car, people on this site said they wouldn't work with my EFI motor. Now that was for an 86 Mustang GT engine, but I imagine the answer is the same.

Also, I moved this thread to the general bs section because it isn't specific to the cars on this site. It should see more traffic in that section anyway, which will get your question answered faster...win, win!
    Cheers!

They might. You would have to use non vented oil caps for them.

Probably won't work, EFI heads have alot of pressure and I believe the heads need to "sealed" thats why the oil cap screws on and doesn't just push on. So i may be weong, but I think that's the issue with trying to use tjose covers.

The original oil caps screw on 'cause that's the way Ford did them. Push-in caps are a GM thing. This has
nothing to do with EFI or pressure. If you have crankcase pressure, whether EFI or carb, something is wrong.

Whether this fits the F150 engine or not will largely depend on how much clearance is between the upper
intake and the existing passenger-side valve cover. On the SEFI Mustangs, Ford used lower-profile covers so
they could reduce the overall height of the engine. That wasn't a priority on the F150.

The F150 engines used the standard height Ford stamped valve covers, and even though the plenum is larger,
they still had a bit more clearance between the upper intake and valve cover than Mustang, but I'm not sure
exactly how much more. What I would say is if those chrome covers are stock height, I expect they will fit, but
if they are taller than stock, it will depend on how much taller they are.
