A nice Falcon Gasser. They have a separate parade of race prepped cars, and we were at the top end so to speak where they parked them.

Watching the NHRA Carolina Nationals as I post, and V. Gaines just did a nasty pirouette at the top end. Car's a mess. but he's ok.

Your welcome Rok. It was nice meeting you as well.
I missed some cars though. I couldn't get the shots I wanted. I went back to try again
    but they had left.
I miss my old film SLR. I can't justify spending the money on a camera that would match it.
So I live with this one that's an E Bay refugee.

Thanks for posting pics. Would have liked to attend, but I was out of the area all weekend. Hopefully next year.

That purple hot rod has a face only a mother could love. Lol. What kind of car is that?
    Cheers!

I'd say that purple thing is an early 40s GM product. People are going to have to learn that some cars can not run fenderless.
1984 Mustang GT owned since 1991 (first car). Mercury Mountaineer GT-40P engine, some suspension mods, currently undergoing a five lug SN95 brake upgrade and more suspension mods. Some minor body and interior mods have been done as well.

I'd guess a '46-'48 Chevy, maybe a Pontiac. Whatever is was, it sounded pretty mean.

Some nice cars there. Looks like it was a great day for a show.

The gentleman driving it was in his late 60's to early 70's.It's a 48 or 49 Chevy Coupe. I can't remember which one. He was staged just behind us.
It has the original front suspension even keeping the knee action shocks. The front radiator shell is from an old Mack that he found lying around. If you look at the cowl vent he has a bulldog on it. I'm not sure of the engine but looking at the picture I wonder if it is the original six. It still has a generator, and it looks like a 40's oil bath air cleaner to. He was pointing out the headlight buckets and grill his friend fabricated for him. There is a Chevrolet emblem on the radiator shell by the way. I never did get to ask him about the engine.

I seem to remember he or someone else referring to it as the Purple People Eater.

I knew it looked Chevy and I guess I was off on the years with it not being a Ford.
