Well I didn't I let my 30 year old neighbor Dave take it to the track. I bought the car from him last summer and revamped it from parts I had laying around. I swapped out the engine for a engine I had refreshed 6 years ago out of my old 90 L.X. Mustang. Been sitting on a stand all that time. I also swapped out the original rear end for a 8.8 with 3.73 gears also from the same L.X.
Anyways he put 15 passes on it and made it to the finals on Sunday only to be rained out for the final round. He ended up taking 2nd place due to having a weaker reaction time from the previous round. His opponent had a better reaction time so they gave him the win. The car started off running 13.90's at 104mph. Dave whittled it down to 13.10 at 106 the cars best and consistently 13.2's and 13.3's all on stock street tires. Not bad for a mild well built motor.
I drive this car 400-500 miles a week and it has been great. It is a fun car to drive and probably the best riding Mustang I have ever had. I just had to share this as I was pretty Proud of Dave and his accomplishments.
