On the 85s, FoxChassis pulled AutoCheck Reports on likely CSP cars identified in our SSP VIN Project, and found:
    - DSO #76-0115 with up to 7 possible VINs (FF206191 - FF206197)
    - DSO #76-0310 with up to 8 possible VINs (FF235050 - FF235057)

For the 86s, it looks like there may have only been one order that year by the CSP:
    - DSO #76-0039 with up to 20 possible VINs (GF247072 - GF247091)

Marti Reports could be ordered on the first and last VIN in each batch to see if the DSO numbers match (thus confirming the VIN range for that DSO), but that would cost $90 for 6 reports, and we have no additional documentation at this time (like a special equipment parts list) to confirm the entire block of VINs as CSP cars.

Another one, possibly two 1986 VINs, that might be CSP, but not confirmed:

Although the OP didn't ask, I figured it wouldn't hurt to include the six CSP cars from 1983 -

What is interesting about the 1983 CSP VINs is they're at the beginning of the group of 76 consecutive P26F (Mustang coupe 5.0L) VINs and the rest (70) of that group are believed to be Zimmer Golden Spirits.

In terms of the 85/86 CSP cars, there aren't too many confirmed. I'm unsure what happened to the following 86, which was cloned into a Georgia State Patrol car -

    http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info247072.htm

(and in case anyone was wondering, the GSP didn't buy any SSPs in 85/86)

That clone was sold at auction in 2010 and is now part of a private Mustang collection in WI. I know because I sold it at that auction and used the proceeds to purchase 2 consecutive VIN (last 2 of 20) Minnesota State Patrol Mustang SSPs (purchased from separate parties 18 months apart). I still have the last of the 20 Minnesota State Patrol SSPs, but I sold the other one to the Mustang Museum of America (http://mustangmuseumofamerica.com/) and used those proceeds to purchase a fully restored (1 of 8 for 1993) Nevada Highway Patrol Mustang SSP. As far as I know the new owner of the Colorado State Patrol Mustang SSP plans on leaving it as a clone.

    Default SSP vin #GF203914

This is the car I'm currently restoring. This car was not fitted with spots or roll bar. Paint was mostly original
Except hood, nose and hood were incorrect replacements when purchased. Areas that I noticed that were
Repainted during stripping car (I carefuly sanded them looking for any ID of stickers/etc) were both doors,
Rear of deck lid and top of fender. Areas that CSP would have applied badging etc...rest of paint was OEM.

The only thing I found on this car was what is left of a broken loud speeker or sicrn mount on back side of
Front bumper beam in the center

Thanks for posting those. Given the wording of your Buildsheet and how your car was configured, the CSP probably did not order your car. Have you contacted the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado? (it's a suburb of Denver) Somebody may be able to track down some history for you.

Still trying to fallow the trail on this car...have contacted Weatridge with no luck yet. Visited with CSP on any info but nothing from before the early 90's as all cars were ordered and fitted/decommissioned through a 3rd party at that time. Have been in contact with Ron Ballas about helping on info on my car or others that the CSP had or may have had. From what I remember, need to find Carfax again is car was on its MSO and first titled at 38k and I beleve somewhere around 89-90. And trying to get info from last or any titled owner my first time around had no luck. I will be getting back on this project soon (sitting due to divorce/life) as I would like to have her done for the RMMR this year. I will post any info I find or get.

This is how she currently sits...Attachment 81061

I have finialy contacted the city of Wheatridge department Historian (1981-current) about this car and they have never had a Mustang in service except a 1988 Gt vert that was a drug bust car and later used for undercover work. So what what his thought are and seems locitial is that most if not all Ford vehicals ordered from any department fleet sales most were sold through this dealership on the west side of town in Wheatridge being the largest Ford dealer with fleet sales at that time. Dealership is now empty for at least 5 years and has changed ownership last known before closing was Autonation.
So is there any others out there with there 4-eyed Colorado SSP cars with there build sheets? Pics and what do they say? Still need to contact Ron and see what info, stories and pics he can provide with these cars as they were his babies when new

That's an interesting turn in your car's story! I will have to update its page in our VIN Project.
