Oooo, well, there we have it. If that VIN is attached to the car (wonder if it's the correct rivets) and on the title, looks like someone had a car without a title, and a car/VIN plate that no longer needed a title and put them together. Sure, someone could have swapped every single item from an SVO to a GT, but Occam's Razor isn't likely to cut that way.
According to the SVOCA registry, there are 2 listings for that VIN (1FABP28T6GF119120). Shows in 1997 as a 1C (black) car, then later (no date) shows wrecked---parts car.
So, something is not right. Nice looking car, but that really doesn't appear to have ever been a 1C SVO. I'm thinking the VIN got moved over to this chassis.

Why black in engine compartment? Why different color paint on fender? Why molding look newer or painted? Why no fog light switch?

Did anyone catch the gauge set as not being SVO....NOTHING left of the wrecked SVO!...a complete GT rebody and transfering the SVO title/VIN to it, in Il. state an easily done"project?" It easily explains the need to change the brake sys to 5 bolt 4-wheel disc 'cause the GT had 4 bolt wheels. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent looking car, but it's a TOTAL MISNOMER to attach "SVO" to it in any way.

From looking at the pics posted above the drivers side of engine compartment is red and the support and firewall looks like it's never been painted,fog light switch is held in with two nuts easy to remove

Got to love this site and all the info available. With SVOCA registery and Carfax along with the details of the car it's very obvious now that the VIN has been swapped.

I guess I can go ahead and release some other info now as well. The SVO that this VIN once belonged to was parted out by the guy who I bought my 86 T-top from a few years ago. The SVO definitely is gone. This ain't it...
Same area / neighborhood even. How it came to be on this GT I have no idea. Sure would have loved to been able to pull the fenders on this one.
