When I needed one late last year for my '86 TC, I got a NOS shaft from a member of another message board. I did a lot of searching at that time and could find nothing new aside from the Esslinger shaft you mentioned. I paid $110 shipped. I would post something in the "Wanted" section.

I've used Ebay. I put in a search of Ford 2.3 in the ebay search line. But, I'm also pretty positive you'll find something on this board as well.
