Default Put some new wheels on 5s-0149 ????

I have noticed my Predator to have a pretty good vibration when driving around 35-45. Front end is all tight, had wheels/tires rebalanced, everything is tight. Buddy of mine has a shop and he kept insisting it was one of the wheels. I love how the original shelby wheels look on these cars so i hated to not run them. Finally decided that i would just keep them for going to shows and buy something else to just drive around on if that was going to give me a smooth ride. I looked at a couple different types of wheels. Ended up decided on 17x9 10th anni Cobra wheels in the antracite color. Figure it was something more modern, but atleast they were a multi spoke wheel in gray to sort of follow the look of the original wheels. I guess they look ok, but really miss the look of the shelby wheels on the car. It does ride much better though. Here's a couple pics.

The new wheels look great! Have you given any thought to a set of lowering springs to go with them, or do you want to stay original (aside from the wheels...which can be easily changed)?

If you really like the original wheels, can you have them repaired so they roll properly and give you the smooth ride you're after?
    Cheers!

Thanks. I will eventually have them checked out. It's tolerable to drive the car with them. Just annoying when going thru town. I am taking it to Michigan in Aug for the Woodward cruise and Dearborn Mustang show an was a little nervous about driving it that far with it being like that so just broke down and bought these wheels/tires to be safe.

Will stick with the stock springs. The back does sit a bit lower than the front and i put new stock replacement springs back there already. Wouldn't want the back to be any lower, but the front could come down a little.

I think the new wheels go well with the car!

Could a good machine shop not check out the old rims and balance them? I had hit a curb years ago with an aluminum rim. It wasn't bad (small ding on the lip) as the bead never broke but it was out of balance after that. They machined the ding on the front but also machined a little on the inboard side to balance it. Just a suggestion.

I know I dont really have too big of an issue switching rims out occasionally either.

Any time you want to borrow my 4 spoke or shelby rims for a photo shoot or show for your baby let me know. At least you would have pics of that sweet ride with some factorys on it. I personally think the 4 spokes would rock it to the hilt. I might be able to hit up a show next year and we could swap at a show so you could do some pics that way as well. Lmk. Predators. Those look great on your car. I like running the original wheels on my car as well but if I was ever to change, I would look into a set of these. I hope it never comes to that but you never know with the availability of 15" tires.

Thanks guys. I have the 8 spoke shelby wheels for it for show purposes. I do like the 4 spoke wheel they used also.
