I've never understood why Fox Bodies don't get the respect that they truly deserve? When I'm at the track and theres any Fords there 9 out of 10 of them will be a Fox Body! In my opinion, the 1979-1993 Fox Body saved the Mustang. When ever I talk with someone and they find out that I have a Mustang, they assume it's a 60's model, don't get me wrong the 1st Gen. are great, but you just gotta Love the 1979-1993 Fox Bodies!

    Few things.

    1) Where's the Grande?! Come on!
    2) The '84 GT350 was not the first to be a mere shadow of its former self. The '69 and '70 Shelbys were all done in house by Ford and were pretty much just Mustangs with a Bunkie Knutson nose, a bunch of fake scoops, and a luxury interior. What could be farther from what the original '65 GT350 was? At least the '84 was light!
    3) I HATE the '72 Sprint package. Could the blue be any UGLIER?! I'm glad it made the list. I see one here or there at shows and it always makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth.
    4) The '79 Pace Car may have been a bit much in the graphics department, but look what they just came off doing, the King Cobra. Loud graphics were the rule of the day! I think it set off the fresh lines of the Fox nicely. The Mustang was all new and you were going to know it!

well something had to make the list, try owning a 74-78 mustang if you want total lack of respect.

my personal opinion is that the 71-78 coupes were the ugliest/worst of all mustangs

Mustang "Top 10 Lists" are always awful and this one is no exception.

As far as the 79 PC is concerned, crazy decals were all the rage in the late 70's and early 80's and PC's specifically are now known for wild paint and graphic's packages. I would say that the 79 PC is what really started that trend and it's still alive and well today. Plus, having the Mustang chosen to pace the indy 500 for the second time was a very big deal especially because the Mustang was fully redesigned. The 79 PC is an important Mustang and it should be treated as such.

Anyone that thinks the King Cobra and 79 PC is ugly, or a terrible special edition doesn't deserve to comment or write anything about the Ford Mustang ever again.

    **Also, I love the Sprint**
    Cheers!

At least the 79 pace car was least offensive to the author.
He also stated "the now classic Fox platform Mustangs".
So maybe our red headed step-child is starting to gain some respect?
As for the 74 Mach 1 not offered with a V-8, Ford never intended the II to have a V-8.
In 75 they had to move the radiator forward to fit it in.
At least they corrected their mistake.

One of those 50 1969 Mustang"E" cars was on the local CL last summer. They were all fastbacks. One thing I will never understand about the 84 anniversary cars, they were white as they should be, but why red stripes and interior? That was nothing like a 65 GT350.

As usual, I disagree with these types of lists. Mostly because they seem to be based on the author's opinions, and Trey already made my point about opinions. Thanks, Trey.

The Ghia made #2 on the list. The author is an idiot, IMHO!

No kidding... The Ghia wasn't a special edition, it was basically a luxury package option that ran from 1974 thru 1981. Sheesh!

I pointed out the Ghia, but the Mach 1 and King Cobra weren't special editions either. They were trim/performance packages. I find it funny that anyone could trash a 79 pace car, anyone seen the purple Corvette pace cars with yellow wheels? Yeah that was a look.

I'm tired of people picking on the Mustang II's. Yes, they had weak drivetrains. Yes, they had 13" wheels (in my opinion, that was the worst thing that Ford could have given them), and yes, they were on the Pinto platform. However, Ford sold MILLIONS of these cars. They were really popular during their era. They also kept the Mustang nameplate alive and brought it into the Fox body era, where the drivetrains were still weak in the beginning but that platform brought back the excitement in the brand and has now allowed that platform to be the number one drag car in America. I would be proud to own a Mustang II and wouldn't rule out owning a '76 Cobra II at some point in my life.
