There are two separate piece that go around each T-roof opening on each side, so four pieces total.

One piece (per side) goes around the opening and down the A-pillar and B-pillar. That "weatherstripping" seals the T-roof glass and door glass to the body.

One piece (per side) goes around the opening to cover the headliner that wraps up over the T-roof frame. That is not technically "weatherstripping" because it does not seal out any "weather". The MU link looks like it is those pieces, and for $45 it probably is.

Need some help. This is the trim that goes behind the window for the door seal. Do they make the seal that seals this to the body? I have to trim the pillar alittle more so it matches up to the t-top frame

I am not at home, so I am going off of memory . . .

But that area should be covered by the rubber weatherstrip that goes from the front A pillar around the T-top opening and then down the quarter post. It should all be one piece.

Although I just reread your question and I may not have answered it! I believe the trim piece is sealed to the body with butyl tape just like the quarter windows and the roof rail molding on solid roof cars.

    Hope that helps!

You can pick up Butyl Tape at your local autobody supply most likely. You could also probably use strip caulk too if you wanted, although the Butyl is generally a bit more adhesive, although it can be messy.

    Good Luck!

Ok I have some of my weather stripping. Should the t-top weather stripping just fall In place or do you have to make this thing fit? It's like it's an inch to two inches to short but if I make it fit it fits. Does that make sense ?

I had a similar experience. Not so much with having to force the t-tops down to close the latch, but with the felts. They either get pushed down, or stuck up too high. I'm not really sure how they are supposed to be. I don't have any t-top cars to look at for comparisons sake. Anyone have a close up picture of how they should fit for us?

Ok here's the question of the day..... Since I can't see your felts does the t-top glass sit on top of them or go in between the two?

The felts were in very rough shape when I bought the car so I simply removed them with a razor blade.

Lubner's 82 would be a good example as his car is original and low miles. Shoot him a PM and maybe he can help you with some better pics.....

I just checked mine, and the glass is between the felt strips, not on top.

I believe the purpose of the felts is to keep most of the water from getting under the tops.

I'm only guessing, but I suspect that the felts are to cut down on wind noise. The T-top has channels to move the water away from the center of the roof and down towards the door glass. The glass tops sit against seals on the frame itself.

Again, not trying to be controversial, just putting out my own opinion....

I understand and I appriciate it very much. I had the front of the glass in that channel and tried working it in the back and pulled the back down away from the weather stripping glue. So we will find out when I get it finished up hopefully by the weekend. Busting my butt to get this thing done ASAP.

Could be. I only know mine didn't start to leak until after those wore out.

I found these while cleaning out my storage unit. I am not sure they are any help to you at this point, but maybe they will be.
