Tire size 82 mustang ??

i was wondering what is the widest tire i can go on a 82 mustang 4 lug amarican racing rims with out doing any modifications and with out rubing curently has 225 60 15 any help would be great

You will need to provide more information for us to help you. What size wheels do you have as that affects how large a tire will fit the wheel size.

Generally if you have 7" wheels, then a 255 is the widest, although I generally don't recommend anything over a 235 for the best fit and wear.

If you have 8" wheels then a 275 is generally the widest, but again I normally recommend a 255 for best fit and wear.

In regards to rubbing, etc. that will depend on too many factors that are difficult for us to determine such as wheel offsets, ride height, alignment, etc. All of these affect if a tire will rub or not when you go larger than an OEM offering. Give us more information and I am sure several members can post up what has worked for them on their rides.
