Default Stock '84 5.0L--what Holley or Summit carb that's an easy bolt-on swap?

Not looking to change the intake or heads, etc. I just want a carburetor that is an easy bolt-on swap that'll work well with the stock set-up. I want to go the Holley or Summit carburetor route and avoid an EB. Thanks!

I purchased a rebuilt stock(oem) Holley/Motorcraft carb from Summit for my 84 if that is what you are thinking.

I looked into that a bit but was a little unsure if that's the way to go, vs. getting something completely new?

I would look into getting a 600 CFM Edelbrock Carb. They are easier to tune/adjust compared to others.
I have one on my 84Gt and it runs great with it but I have a aftermarket intake.

I recently purchased the edelbrock 1406, how did you swap the a/c diaphram from the holley and does the fact that the 84's use the eecIV computer create any issues?

If you have a factory carbureted 84 GT, there shouldn't be an eec in the car. I'm not sure if the throttle kicker solenoid is compatible with an Edelbrock, let alone any other aftermarket Holley carburetor.
