Well, here's how she sits right now. Pretty ugly....

Rear patch cut and bent. Turned out pretty decent.

First test fit. The stretcher didn't quite have enough balls to stretch it to conform to the trans tunnel so I had to make two cuts.

View from the bottom during test fit.

And just about done. I have a lot of cleaning up to do but you get the idea. Completely seam welded inside and out

Finally purchased my blower hat. It hurt the pocket book a bit.

This is not my blower hat but it looks very similar.

Updates! Ok, so nothing major but progress is progress right?

Just buttoning up a few items under the car before I start cutting out the firewall to do a smooth firewall.

Patched up a ton of holes(over 30) in the passenger rear area.

    Ugly, but it'll do.

And the rear of the floor pan is all buttoned up now and turned out pretty nice.

Next was to remove all this crap that won't be used to install my sn95 interior. I'm ditching the inner frame and only using the outer shell so I'll have to fabricate the lower dash mounts.

    Smooth as a babys ass.

I probably could but I plan on using 2 Kirkey low back aluminum race seats in the rear. Much safer then a factory style seat for my kids. Then I'll have 2 Kirkey pro drag seats In the front.

Already sold all the excess parts and crushed the other car. Searching for a very clean hood myself to build and mold my own fiberglass hood from after I finish the chassis.

Has anybody asked yet? (Or you may have already said it) You planning on street driving this thing w/ a (what 8-71?) and a mechanical methanol injection system? When you mentioned rear mounted Kirkeys, I just assumed you were.
BTW your work is beautiful, your attention to fit, finish, and detail puts me to shame.

    Thanks for the kind words!
I plan on 50/50 street and track duty. Probably make the 140 mile round trip daily commute to and from work a time or two as well.
It's a 14-71 blower and I'm running holley dominator efi with Moran 325lb injectors. In my case the blower hat will serve as basically a very large throttle body.

Still waiting on my blower hat from Mike at AlkyDigger.com, ordered it 5 weeks ago and still not here.

I've had a 3 day weekend this week so I've managed to get most of the bottom side in a uniform coat of primer. Also got the last few pieces of the old subframe connectors cut off and smoothed out. There are still a few items that need to be done before final primer goes on. Some bodywork and a few more holes to be filled.
Sanded to bare metal and used transtar euro classic 2k primer.

    Updates!

Time for some work on the engine a little bit. Designing a front engine plate that will hold a crank support system, hold the engine itself, and my blower idler pulley.

The main plate that is attached to the engine will be .5" 7075-t6 aluminum. The crank support will be constructed from many pieces but primarily 6061-t6 aluminum. The motor mount ears that will bolt on each side will be 7075-t6 as well as the blower idler pulley mount on top left. Enough rambling and on to the pictures...

First layout on .125" lexan. This will be used to layout the final pattern in aluminum.

Primary mounting holes made and ready for test fit.

The lexan is slightly oversized but will be trimmed down and given an aesthetically pleasing shape after the design and function is perfected.

Drilled holes to allow for camshaft adjustment, belt tension access, and crankshaft snout. Some of the mounting holes look like the don't line up. But they do. It's just the angle the picture is taken.

Access hole cut for camshaft timing view. And water ports cut out. The idler pulley is hanging in roughly the location it will be in the final version. It will be a seperate piece that bolts to the main plate.

Here you can see I'll need to machine a few spacers to mount the engine plate evenly and tightly to the engine. The center section needs to be TOUGH as this well be the base to my crank support system.

Blower hat is here! I ordered the 5 9/16" butterfly hat with progressive linkage and black anodized butterflies. The butterflies should show up next week as they are being anodized now. Took 6 weeks to get it but man I love it!

Also made a few more modifications to the motor plate and installed some mockup hardware.

For a $2000 blower hat you'd think it would come assembled correctly, but no. The progressive linkage and butterflies were on backwards. I'll let the pictures explain.

Suppose to have the right hand butterfly open before the other two hence the name progressive linkage.

Apart it came to fix their **** up.

And now it's assembled correctly. It'll need fine tuning when final installed.

And I received the aluminum to start building the motor plate/crank support/blower idler setup.

Damn man, I had to take a double look at the first pic to see the hat is wider than the engine. LOL
That's gonna look killer. I showed it to my wife, she asked me " Is that for real?"
