well i just put them on this week, and I haven't driven it except in the driveway and the yard, no rubbing detected, there is some evidence of rubbing on every outer sidewall tho, they may have been on a lowered car, mine is factory ride height and all appears to be ok, I'm putting it on the road saturday so i guess I'll know for sure then.

FM2NOTCH, I really dig those wheels. Wasn't aware of them before. So yeah, either 15x7 or different backspacing for the 15x8s. Thanks for the pics!

V6Powa, was gonna snap some photos but couldn't get to the car last night, however FM2's pics seem to work.

I'm currently doing some front end work, so it may take some time for the pics but I'm definitely ordering those rims next week. My car is going to have a level stance, probably more elevated than most care for, but not quite 4x4. I don't really mind the wheels being out that far at the front, but if they are, they would have to stick out an equal amount at the back, or it won't quite look right. FM2NOTCH, could you send me a pic of how far your rears are out with your zero offset?

the rears with 235 60 15's are almost perfectly flush with the lip, they don't stick out at all.

I drove it today, no rubbing, scrubbing detected, I still believe the wheels/tires would look better with a 5 inch backspace on a 15x8 or a 4 inch backspace on a 15x7 wheel

    Question... how's the tailpipe clearance?

With all of the wheel options around, one should be able to find what they are looking for. The black rims that you are interested in would do your car justice, in your taste. I think that they look good but as others have stated, just not for me. Personally, I think that a 5 lug conversion would be a good thing for you.... more options available.

For me, I was looking into the 10th Anniversary rims, until I was offered these for a song and a dance:

    conmech - aka Marshall
Pending build-1983 Mercury Capri RS NOT staying as it left the showroom floor......
Sonic blue pearl, sand beige, netted halos, FR500 wheels and shiny under the hood.

If you do go 5-lug, the 16x7 factory mesh wheels from a Crown Vic would look pretty killer on that '83.

I know that it is a personal preference, but why is everyone so hung up on mesh wheels here? I just don't get it.

Mine came with TRX's new, then had some SSP steel wheels and 10 holes later on, and now a set of 15"x7" Weld knock-offs with 225/60r15 tires. (in deep snow at Tahoe)

They fit perfectly, just like the factory wheels, and at my age I consider any wheel over 15" too large for this type of car. 1. ride quality suffers (it's already too rough riding for me in daily commuting) 2. big wheels are too ghetto for me for any older car. (I live too close to certain communties of sketchy people and their wheels are all chrome and too big, waaay too big). And I don't care to be part of their culture thank you.

The whole problem I think with the steel wheels is the largest size is 15". I already am finding it tough to get tires for my 15" rims and when I switch to 5 lug its gonna be 16" or 17". I'm gonna miss my 10 holes though.
