There is no ***501 VIN in the The Saleen Book for the 1985 model year but apparently there have been some VIN mistakes in that book. Contact Saleen and they will verify if it is real or not. http://saleen.com/contact.html

Cool, thank FoxChassis! I'll give em a call tomorrow. I doubt it is but figured I'd check. It's got the dash, speedo and that's it.
Well it's not a Saleen, still might pick it up though. It's rough but repairable and it does have some cool stuff on it. Thanks again for the info Mick.
