gas tank cover

Did the GT-350's come with the plastic gas tank cover? mine does not have it. But I have one and can install it if needed.

Mine does not have one a I doubt it's ever been down.

Interesting question. I didn't have one on my turbo hatchback either. But I have on all other 84s that I've owned. GT350 or otherwise. Even though my car was super original, I figured it had been removed for one reason or another. I just wasn't too concerned about it.

I can't speak for the GT 350's. But, my '84 1/2 GT (May 1984 production date) did come with a gas tank cover.
However, it is not a full cover like the later aero cars because mine only goes between the gas tank straps. It does not provide any protection for the ends of the tank.

Interesting! I think I will paint the cover I have satin black and install it. The car looks pretty ugly without one from the back. My tank has a dent in it and the cover will cover it up nicely.

83 GT has the thin cover, only under the straps. when did the "full" size covers come out? my 88 has the full cover
