    Default Repair Mistakes & Blunders

We are looking for some good repair mistake and blunder stories to feature in the RockAuto newsletter (we know you have some)! Tell us about your most infamous auto repair blunder or unconventional fix. Use your woe to help others avoid similar mistakes or share off-the-wall solutions that worked (at least for a while!).

Please e-mail your story to Flamur@RockAuto.com. Include your mailing address and let us know if you would like a RockAuto T-Shirt (please let us know your shirt size) or Hat if we publish your story. See the T-Shirts and Hats under Tools & Universal Parts in the catalog.

The story will be credited using only your first name and your vague geographic location (state, province, country, continent, etc.) so you can remain semi-anonymous!

Here is a link to the current newsletter if you’d like to take a look: http://www.rockauto.com/Newsletter/index.html

Is there a deadline for the stories from us? I can't wait to read some of the stories.

We do not have a deadline. We use a new blunder story in each of our newsletters so as you think of them (or as they happen) you are welcome to submit them!

    Thank you,

Replaced a fuelpump in a saab, easy enough with the little access cover in the back. Turn on key, pump runs still no fuel...
Fool with it for a bit... Take the pump back out and i see the protective cap still on the pickup!! I remember it so well. It was shaped just like a battery terminal protector.

Funny story, CB. You should email that one to RockAuto.
