Default New Member, just wanted to introduce myself

    Hey I am new to the fox world. I have had a 94 and 95 gt, a 2001 lightning, a 2003 mach 1 and a 2004 cobra. Now I have a 1985 5.0 5-speed car and I will need a ton of help as I work through it.

My wife and I just bought this car from her grandfather. It has 87,000 miles on the body and about 17,000 on the engine, transmission and (8.8 w/3.73) rear.

So excited to start playing with the car but it is dog slow as of right now.

Thanks guys. I love the car. My build is going to be a procharged 408w, but I am keeping all original parts so that I can return to stock later on down the road.

He has had it for about 15 years or so. He bought it with 70,000 on it and it was in a million pieces.

    Hey, welcome!

Nice car! It should go pretty good with a stroked 351!
Did the car come with the body kit, or do you have the original parts too?
Stock 302 in it right now?

Came with the GT ground effects. Probably will end up leaving them for now.

Has the stock 302 with the exception of equal length headers, off-road H, not sure what muffler and tailpipe set, an edelbrock performer 289 and a full MSD 6AL set-up with MSD distributor.

Of course also has an 8.8 rear with 3.73's.

Don't have any of the original parts for everything that is already done but if I want it back to stock later on I will have to hunt a few things.

Great looking GT, congrats! That's a very nice body kit btw, it looks like 86 Saleen pieces (I'm sure of the front air dam and rear valance, and I assume the side skirts are Saleen as well). The car would look amazing with the 86 saleen lower tri-toned stripe kit (in silver) from Performance Autosports. You already have the Saleen body pieces, may as well finish off the look with the lower stripes IMO.

It looks like a great car that has been well cared for, and I love that color. Welcome to FEP and congrats again!
    Cheers!

Thanks everyone! I have been looking very hard at doing a 5 lug swap so I can run the 18" sn95 saleen wheels. I was also considering painting all of the trim pieces black instead of replacing them. It is definitely not perfect but for a 30 year old car I am very pleased.

I also have planned out the 408w build. Goal 1 is now to find a 351w block with a 9.5 deck.

I will post pics once I do the 5 lug and wheel swap. I plan on using spindles from a 94-95 and 94-04 calipers/rotors, 99-04 lines, and a 93 cobra master cylinder with a ford racing pv.
