Almost sounds too good to be true to me. But as I cannot afford to buy any toys right now, thought I'd share. Maybe one of you can give her a good home.

No 8-track, it's cassette, and an el-cheapo at that. Probably not factory either, but better than nothing.

Also note the first gen Mustang-style parking brake. Either crude by 1982 standards, or the sign of a seriously heavy duty truck. Foreign looking ignition and other switchgear.

    Easy blower-motor servicing...

Nice two tone paint? Depends on what you're comparing it to.

The jambs appear to be a maroon, matching the inside painted surfaces of the door.

Probably the original color of the whole truck under the hood, it matches the jambs. Nice Ford blue with overspray on the exhaust manifold.

So is this a regular old 2.3?

A good paint job, and an SVO-style turbo setup would make this truck cooler, as would an air conditioner. Then go out and smoke some Rangers.

    1963 Mercury Comet S-22 Convertible - $19990 (minneapolis)

    http://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/cto/4595794645.html

    1963 mercury comet
    odometer: 85000
    paint color : white
    type : convertible
    drive : rwd
    fuel : gas
    transmission : automatic
    title status : clean

I am selling my beautiful 1963 Mercury Comet Convertible (S-22 trim package). 85,000 original miles on this down south car. $19,990 OBO. No rust and good solid and straight car. No dents and it has all of its chrome! The paint is a B+ and the interior has been restored and is a A-. The engine is the original 260 V8 and it has a two speed merc-o-matic automatic transmission. The engine runs great once warmed up for a minute and has never let me down. I replaced the plugs, wires, distributor, points and coil. The car was restored about 10 years ago and I have a small packet with receipts and pictures from the restoration. The top is red and was also replaced and it is like new. It also has a retro sound head unit with bluetooth and new speaker system.

When I received the car I replaced / rebuilt the power steering box, had the strut arm bushings replaced and most of the steering components were warn so those were replaced as well. I had it lowered 2" and had the alignment professionally done and it drives true and smooth. I had the brakes checked last month and they are in great shape. I had new Coker tires and steel rims installed for a updated look. I also have the original tires, rims and hubcaps as well.

I bought the car last year from a nice old farmer in Bowling Green Kentucky. I am sad to sell the car but I just got married and we need to save up money for a new house. I would put this up against any Comet in this RARE year. Overall a great car and tons of fun. It will also get you into back to the 50's!

There is a tailgate bench on the local CL made from a 1951 Ford tailgate. They want $475 for it, think I'm getting into the bench building business.
1984 Mustang GT owned since 1991 (first car). Mercury Mountaineer GT-40P engine, some suspension mods, currently undergoing a five lug SN95 brake upgrade and more suspension mods. Some minor body and interior mods have been done as well.

I luv Cragars. Very cool van.

Somehow I don't think that it was easy to work on this engine. Thinking waaay outside the box, perhaps the grille could have been on some kind of a swingout hinge to provide more space to get to the engine. I would take that thinking one step farther to say that the engine could be on some type of pull-out system (though that would require a few disconnections).

The engine cover between the front seats is removable. Even so, yeah, not easy to work on(thinking water pump, t-stat, etc.)

The '60's saw some fairly odd offerings from all manufacturers. Cab-over pick-ups, vans, air cooled, trans-axles, rear engine, etc. I think they're all kinda cool looking back.

That's true -- and if I'm not mistaken -- this one has a rear engine -- which is the reason for those side vents (above the rear wheels).

I wonder what the output is. Fresh air? The ad didn't list AC... Is that just a vent? I remember when these were new, and before the '77s (or whichever year they changed them) were released. That's a nice van! Those all rusted away in my neck of the woods. Can't remember the last time I saw one.

I also remember the Corvair vans, but they were rare even when I was a little kid, and those vans were only ~10 years old. They also made a pick-up version of the Corvair van, just like Ford did with the original Econolines.

    Great finds!

That Econoline is sweet. The period correct color set off by the period correct Cragars is a nice combination.

I am wondering, maybe I should approach my vanpool provider about swapping my current E350 for this? It would sure make for a more classy commute.

Yes, they did make a truck version ---- a really cool one with a ramp on the side of the bed. Really unique.

Any commute in something with Cragars would, at least, be a fun commute.

You are looking a 1965 Ford Econoline Van.

Strong running 200 ci inline Mustang motor with matching distributor, and an even rarer factory 4 speed manual transmission.

    Aluminum 3 row radiator.

Please read the ad all the way to the end as you will need respond with your name and number to contact me.

    Factory FORD 9" Econoline rear.

Van runs and drives but will need a wiring harness as it has no lights, gauges etc.... and will need some floor board rust repair. Has been hit in the rear roll pan behind the back bumper also which can be fixed or driven that way, your call.

Tires are in very good condition.

Title in hand and registration good until Oct.

Has driver seat only currently, but will come with two Miata seats.

Has a camper style pop up vent in the back roof area as well.

Has 4 mounting points for roof rack for surf boards, lumber rack etc..

Not to be harsh or anything but do to spammers and email address collectors, I request that you respond to this ad with a name and phone number that I can call you back at.
If you don't reply with a name and a number, you probably won't be hearing from me.
Proud owner of the one and only Friggin' Futura
