    Default 86 White Coupe build

I just picked this up. Don't know what direction it will go yet. It's a 4cyl. that was involved in a small fire. The body is straight and the interior is in decent shape.

Looks like a great starter project. I'm assuming the fire was contained to the engine compartment?

Thanks guys. The fire stayed in the engine compartment. The interior may clean up, but I haven't gotten too far to be able to tell. It was delivered to me yesterday while we were celebrating our Xmas. I have had both a drag set up and road race but i am torn between the two. This will be a street cruiser with AC but not necessarily with PS and PB. Here are a couple of pics of my coupe that started out as a drag car and recently switched to more of a RR set up. I sold it for some reason.

This was after many years of hard work.

This is how it ended up after a 3yr complete rebuild.

They are 18x9 and 18x10. I was using 94-95 spindles. Wheel Replicas in Katy, TX is where I got them from.

That's a nice coupe to build upon. I've been thinking lately of finding a nice little 85/86 coupe like that and using my 87 to do a complete swap. I wonder how hard that would be to do? It would finally give me my little 5.0L, 5 speed driver Ive been looking for! Lmk if you decide to sell it.

I found a hood that is just as crappy looking as the rest of the car! LOL The price was right and it was white so it was a no brainer to pick it up.

Not too much to report. A generous friend donated the front portion of some brand new tailpipes. He cut off the stainless tips for his car. Also gave me the GT tailpipes that came off his. I'll weld them together and make them work for a while. Since my wife's car is getting a turbo, I will also have shorty headers and an H pipe. All I need is a set of mufflers to complete the exhaust.

He also gave me a good booster and master cylinder.

I saw it on my phone but must have deleted it. My old coupe started out as an SSP car in the town I lived in for a few years. I was actually pulled over by a cop in that car when I owned my first 86'. It went to auction after it's service life and an acquaintance bought it and later sold it to me. I owned it for 15yrs. it's now in Austin, Tx.

Dropped a speed density motor and AOD in the other day. The plan is to get it to run and drive. Then I'll tear it apart and smooth the engine bay. Color will be factory white but with a twist. It's going to be flat white. Flat black wheels. Decided to make it a dedicated race car.

I may end up selling this thing! Can't seem to find time to work on it. I blew up my wife's turbo'd 93' hatch!

    Which led me to this:

I have front coilovers, 94' spindles and hubs, (might have tubular control arms), 99' calipers, braided brake hoses, 15x3.5 Bogarts, shorty headers, H pipe, tailpipes, a rebuilt rearend w 3.73's, and a complete wiring harness to replace the burned one. I never got around to finishing up the motor and tranny. All this stuff and no motivation. Should I sell it all and focus on the hatch? My wife will mainly drive the new GT but since she can't be in two cars at once, I would always have something to play in, if I wanted.

I've had a for sale ad in the classifieds for a little while now. Picked up another four eyes car that will replace this project. Make me an offer on this white coupe. I don't have enough driveway space. LOL
