Default 1985 Mercury Capri McLaren Coupe

85 Capri McLaren blue and orange v8 5 speed car
33,000 original and documented miles with prior owner history and carfax
car is said to be one of five made and documented as a press release or pre-production vehicle as several of the items on this car did not go into production
car is in great driver condition and most of the original paint remains and no rust ever
since my owning the vehicle roughly 5 years, I have had wheels refinished and tires replaced, carb rebuilt and full exhaust replacement to list major items
I also have 5 extra original orange McLaren wheels that came off this car, an original hood in factory primer and a replacement Holley carb (4180c from late 80's) with original receipts recently rebuilt
    $9,000
car is located in central Ct.

I am not picking just asking I thought all full production coupes came standard with the 140 mph speedo? It is a beautiful car. I have an 86 Eurocoupe and it is supposed to have an 85 in it and I got a 140.

    No worries Scott
From what I have learned, only late 85's, if any, got the 140 speedo
I also owned an 85 vert cfi auto and that was a 85 mph speedo
And remember, this car is one of first few(some say five or less)produced and has mclaren items not sold on other production vehicles for one reason or another, my guess is to keep cost down so this is not your standard "production" coupe
From what I have read on .org, this car and 1 other like it are known to exist

Interesting car. I've never seen on of these in person. Pretty cool. I watch Chasing Classic Cars and notice the limerock sign in the background.

    Thank you
I have never watched the show but his business is two towns from my house and Limerock is part of this nice country loop I usually take by motorcycle. Thought it would be a cool spot to take a few pics last year.

    I found a 95 Viper that's been parked for a few years
Need the garage space and won't put the capri in storage
Car was left by prior owner, that's the short version so no one gets bored

Forgot about these, window sticker and all the books that come with the car
Top that with 3 brochures, one having the actual color codes offered still inside and in great shape.

Currently less than three days remaining on an 85 blue coupe on eBay with a repaint and twice the miles for $12,800 as a reference to my car and my price...
Thank you to all the offers made regardless
Edit: as of 2030 hrs. EST 1-28-14 the eBay car has sold for $12,800
