How many miles does it have on the odometer? Can you post a pic of the door tag and buck tag? Do you have any other tags or documents, such as an owner card, build sheet, window sticker, or Marti report? Does it have any of the following options:

I don't see power windows listed as an option on that list (or did I miss it, part of the power lock group?)

Thanks for that info, I thought maybe that might be the case. So that means the only options my Pace Car does not have is power door locks and 8-track (no louvres with rear window wiper)?

Louvers and rear washer/wiper were not available together. You could get one or the other, or neither, but not both.

To make it simple, here is the options list for...

...either the 2.3T or 5.0L engine:
8-track
air conditioner
California emissions system (not available with high-altitude emissions or 5.0/4-spd)
cruise control (not available with leather-wrapped steering wheel)
front license plate bracket
leather-wrapped steering wheel (not available with cruise or tilt)
lower bodyside protection
power door locks
rear louvers (not available with rear washer/wiper)
rear defrost
rear washer/wiper (not available with louvers)
tilt steering wheel (not available with leather-wrapped steering wheel, requires power steering)
tinted glass ("complete", i.e. windshield and side and rear glass)

Thanks for posting that. Now I know that my Turbo PC came with every available option except, 8-track, power door locks, & lower body side protection.

My Marti report does not list power steering as an option. I pulled my buck tag off today, as it could only be partially read on the car. Hopefully you can decipher it from these photos.

Did you ever find out if all 1979 Pace Cars came with power steering, regardless of engine/transmission combo?

I just learned something: Sport tuned exhaust was standard on 5.0 manual, but optional on 5.0 automatic. I knew it was like this on later Fox Mustangs, but not for 79!

Amazing how we keep learning. So now I ask: What was the 5.0 automatic sport tuned exhaust option code? and what was the difference between the two exhausts?

(I know in later years, automatics got resonators in the mid pipes)

I do not have the RPO code at this moment but the 7/4/79 price book says the Sport Tuned Exhaust was a $34 option (for the 5.0L/auto combo).

Info on Festival/Pace Car #0029

I purchased this vehicle in September 1979 from a local (Louisville, KY) Lincoln, Mercury Dealer.
I drove it as my daily vehicle for the about the first fours years.
After that my employer started providing a company car and I started cleaning up the car from road use........
Well one thing lead to another and the next thing I knew I had it totally disassembled......
Then life took over.....marriage, daughter, work.....and #0029 sat in garages on a rotisserie for the next 32 years......
I am a collision technician by trade, and about eight years ago I purchased a local body shop.

Hello! I would like to put my info on the list! I do not know where the buck tag is, but I have vin and door tag photos! Also, I know nothing about the history of it, I got it from a mustang salvage in NW Arkansas. Also, the guy claims to have vin plates and a title for a 79 v8 auto pace car, but can not confirm this at this time. Anyways, here are the photos!

I just picked up a pace car this weekend that I'd like to add. It has a 5.0/T5 from an 85 GT. Odometer reads about 18,XXX, not sure how many times its gone around. As far as I can tell from your list it has no options.

please let me know if these pictures show up.
