just saved this 79, was gonna get parted prev owner started swapping to 5 lug and lost interest. Pretty clean for a pa car,no motor or trans was a 2.3 turbo car. excited to see what it used to have

1979 Dearborn 282880 added to database and registry

Seeing that it has a green "COBRA" decal on the door, and it has black paint and black interior, it may be a 'Cobra Package Alternate'.

How many miles on the odometer? Does or did it have any of the following options?

Should have stated when i opened the door the jams have the Tu-tone lower non gloss paint
cluster says 83k, Had green hood decal,has bin removed over time
has center console,
interval wipers,
4 way manual drivers seat,
has the leather wrapped sport blk 3 spoke steering wheel,
rear defrost

dont know any other options since i havent really dug into it.

What does the cobra package alternate consist of? Car is still technically a cobra correct?

Whether it has the Cobra Package Alternate or not it's still a Cobra.

From the 1979 Mustang Car Facts Book:

Cobra Package Alternate - available only with black exterior paint and interior trim, includes green exterior accents in place of standard red.

It was available only in the 1979 model year. According to Marti Auto Works there were 17579 Cobras made in 1979 and 938 of them had the Cobra Package Alternate.

Has the following options that I can confirm:
Air Conditioner
Cobra Package
Defroster, Electric Rear Window
Mirrors, Dual Color Keyed
Steering Wheel, Tilt
Windshield Wipers, Interval
It may have had more but that is what I know is fitted. Ill get a pic of back tag tonight. Can you confirm that it is a Cobra? I have never really been 100% on it.

If your Bucktag has the letters CBR or COBRA on it, it's a true Cobra. Without a Marti report, that's the only way that you'll ever know.

Since it was made at the San Jose assembly plant it will have "COBRA" on the buck tag if it is one.

1979 San Jose 182976 updated in the database and registry. FYI: This Cobra did not come with electric rear window defroster from the factory.

Yes, I since looked at the rear window and noticed it didnt have the defroster. For some reason I had it in my head that it did. Might be worth noting that it is in Australia and converted to RHD. Great work, Its good to see someone is keeping a register.
