Wow, that's a newer item. I also have a sand beige interior and this part wasn't available when I was looking for a new pad. Why don't you guys give FMR a call and ask if the pad is one of the regular replacements that was dyed tan or if this is a whole new reproduction pad? If its one of the current repop pads dyed tan then I would pass. There are several threads that talk about how terrible those fit. If its a 100% new product then maybe it will fit better.
I got my OEM sand beige pad off eBay for $150 and its mint, so good deals are still out there. I mention that because $220 is a lot to spend for that crappy old repop. I would go with a dash cap before I bought one of those.
Good luck and let us know the details if you decide to call.
Cheers!

I am curious as well. My dash pad has a couple of real small cracks in the speaker grills. I was looking at the one that CJ's sells but it only comes in black (you have to dye it to match). If FMR has them in red, I might go there. But, I'm still wanting to see one before purchasing one.

I'm wondering if it's a new pad wrapped in sand beige for ease of color changes for other interiors?

I talked to Chris at FMR and he told me they receive these in black and then dye them sand beige. He wouldn't reveal the manufacture of them, but did say they are not
the flimsy kind. I may have to order one and check them out.
Haven't order from them yet. I have only heard GREAT things about there products, as fitment and quality goes.

"Not the flimsy kind" being a reference to the old repros that go all wavy even before you take them out
of the box. I'm betting the pads FMR is selling here are the Dashes Direct ones, that, while better, are still
not OEM quality.
There was a long discussion about these in THIS THREAD. Skip to the last few pages for the Cliff's Notes.
Bottom line, the Dashes Direct pad can be made to fit decent, but it takes a bit of work. On the plus side,
the last one they sent me with the additional reinforcements is still holding it's shape, and it's been sitting
out in the sun for a couple years now.

With all that being said, I would either buy a cap if you want to save some $$ but make an improvement on your current dash, or I would wait until a nice used or nos OEM one becomes available on eBay (or anyplace else fine Fox products are sold). $200+ is a lot to spend on something with the track record these dash pads have. I said it before but I found my mint oem sand beige pad on eBay and I only paid $150 bucks.
One other reason I would pass has to do with my experiences with FMR. They lost me as a customer a couple years ago and I don't trust them any further than I can throw them...but that's just my story, many have had good experiences.
Cheers!

Update - 2023 - Looking to buy 81 Mustang, 82/85/86 Mustang GT, and 79 - 86 Capri (No Sunroof). Not looking for all original/show cars or convertibles - I will be modifying. Would be nice if both were - Black Interior, PW, PL, AC, No - or very little rust. Motor/Trans/Axle not important. Options negotiable with price.
I forgot all about this thread and they where at the NMRA Bowling Green race. I would've asked about them but I flaked on that.
