no pic but basically both the 7.5 and 8.8 have a flat spot near the center section, close to the axle tube. the brake line bracket bolts on there, the problem is the 8.8 is taller/bigger and the 7.5 bracket is too short to reach where it bolts on, what I did was use a longer bolt to reach the hole and used the nuts to secure it.

After all the discussion would I be crazy to stick with my 7.5 and add a girdle cover? I dont intend to use the car at the drag strip... OK maybe once or twice, but not as a dedicated racer. Would the 7.5 live behind a midly built 302? I am just wondering if i want to put 300-400 into the rear end when the rear I have still burns out with by wheels and isnt broken.

    Thanks.

Never mind: I could just install the 8.8 as in and not fus with the gears right now. <-- newb.

the 7.5 will hold up as long as you don't dump the clutch or launch with sticky tires

I dont see this car on my budget doing anything crazy at the strip. This may come down to the direction of the wind lol. Does the cover girdle help any ?

the weakest part is internal, don't spend any money on the 7.5, save it for a 8.8 swap
