    http://s1337.photobucket.com/user/82...eiatr.jpg.html

We used a drill mounted abrasive wheel similar to one in the link: https://www.harborfreight.com/4-inch...ush-94015.html

You need to be careful as this can go through the aluminum backing easily.

For the latest ones I did, I found using a razor blade scraper to remove a majority of the rubber and adhesive and then use something like GooGone to remove the last of the adhesive.

Fast way i discovered to remove old molding foam and adhesive without any damage to the foil:
Wire cup wheel and 4" electric hand grinder. Works slowly first does the foam layer then glue layer.
Light pressure as needed. Two passes.
The wire wheel heats the old glue up in a few seconds just enough to make it disappear without disturbing the foil.
No digging in but does dull the foil a bit. No abrasive loading and faster than sandpaper, no razor blade gouging.
Kind of as if one had an 'iron finger' to rub something off. Wipe with solvent like goo gone after.

These were the clips that were on the car. I am not aware if you can buy them but this rocker trim was on many Mustangs so junk yards or other enthusiasts may be the best source. Note the rear clip is different than the others. There is also a threaded clip for the front that bolts through the lower front fender.

All of these clips were intact but I worried that some of the attaching rivets would break off or not be usable. Thankfully I still managed to use them all. I am not sure what to do if one needing replacing

Thanks! I have a front mount, and only one plastic retainer. In the Ford store, they generally made round eyes and refused, there is no way ...
I didn’t find it on Roсkauto either.
If I don’t find it, I want to fix it with screws.

I recalled some previous conversations and found the following for part numbers for the retainers:

    http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...n-rocker-panel

    "but there are three different retainers that hold it on. The part numbers are as follows;

    D9ZZ 6610182-B (front retainer)
    D8BZ 5410182-A (middle retainer)
    D8BZ 5410198-A (rear retainer)

A total of 7 retainers are needed for each side. Not sure how many of each are needed.

    The rocker panel molding part numbers are;

    D9ZZ 6610176-A (black)
    D9ZZ 6610176-B (chrome)"

Also bright rocker moldings are available to buy at NPD:

    D8BZ 5410182-A (средний фиксатор)
    D8BZ 5410198-A (задний фиксатор)

Thanks a lot. I found everything by the numbers!

    Default 2021 Updates

You know I love this site. I have not been as active lately but read and catch up frequently. Work is busy, life is changing. Time is less available and dreams of full days in the garage to do car stuff never come to fruition.

Posting updates as easy as they are even fall behind.

2021...The car did get out and runs great! The 2.8 is peppy I suppose, the exhaust is a little too droney for me at highway speed in the 100 km/h range but I suffer it Other than that when you listen to it you'd have a hard time believing it is a V6.

    On to pictures of 2021:

    First day out Mid-June 2021.

    https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...E/IMG_8057.JPG

I polished the car up nice to do a neighboring community Canada Day Parade. The car shined up pretty darned nice.

Weighed in at a local highway provincial weigh scale. Pretty light at 1260 kg. That's 2772 pounds.

So glad you were able to get it sorted-out after the accident. You shouldn't let your son drive it again until he's 40

    Default The 2022 Season

Life and work again gets in the way of car fun. 2022 seemed like a short year and went by in a blink. I got the car out in mid-April and put her away for the winter in mid-September. Earlier than I needed to but not enough time to get out with long work days and less sunlight

    Spring and signs of life

I don't know what it was about last summer, but I hardly got out in my car either and no shows as well. Maybe this year will be better so long as my new motorcycle doesn't get all my attention.

Update - 2023 - Looking to buy 81 Mustang, 82/85/86 Mustang GT, and 79 - 86 Capri (No Sunroof). Not looking for all original/show cars or convertibles - I will be modifying. Would be nice if both were - Black Interior, PW, PL, AC, No - or very little rust. Motor/Trans/Axle not important. Options negotiable with price.

Hi Thomas, we currently have no firm plan in place so the intake, water outlet and carb are stored on a shelf. My intent was to have the parts for the 4-speed SROD conversion and an upgraded camshaft prior to doing the upgrade. Oh, and time...one always needs more time to do these things!

Another member sent me a link to a Craigslist ad for the intake in Michigan. The seller ended up having the carburator for sale too! All brand new, never installed. Less than half the price of retail through The Mustang Shop here!

We are going to continue the build with the two barrel for this year. I had already purchased the rebuild kit etc.

I am giving these to my son for a graduation present next year. He can enjoy his first car in all the original finery for one season I think.

Thank you! We all know how much work goes on in the background for a project and I am glad I had the energy to do the work but also document the majority of it also!

Here is to a long 2023 driving season!
