    Default New Owner of an 85 LTD LX

    Hello everyone. Thats right, another one has a new owner. Nothing special, been sitting for quite a while. Last tag says 01 but the PO said he has fired it up and moved it around a bit over the years.

    I know I'll have to do:

    Front brakes/jounce hoses
    R&R tank
    All fluids/belt/hoses
    Remove emission system
    Plugs/wires/cap/rotor
    Battery

    Then, see if it'll start. I guess the engine was rebuilt at some point but I dont have the paperwork just yet.

    The doors are rusty, the paint is mostly gone but its all there and not dented. Its completely bone stock too, even has the heat risers to the air cleaner. I bought the car so I dont have to drive my Excursion everywhere. I may do a plastidip paint job but was also thinking of doing a Mad Max type of thing too. Punisher on the hood and maybe some crazy flames all over. Not sure yet.

    Anyway, I know theres piles of info here but what are the quick things I need to look for, other than the obvious Fox car stuff. Im looking for the specific LTD or CFI nonsense I may run into.

    Is this a roller motor? Cant remember the 85 flavor.

    Could be a roller block but definitely not a roller cam.

    Werd, mine was, old marine flat tappet cam in a roller block.
    1985 LTD LX, Mach1 brakes, 17" Mopar police car wheels. 302, T5, 4.10s

    The original cam was not a "marine" cam. It was from a 1973 Torino 351W 2V engine.
