Default Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself.

Just thought I'd stop in and say hi! My name is Curtis and I've been building a 1983 fairmont futura for the past 7 years. It started life as a 4 banger automatic and has evolved into a 32v DOHC, 6 speed, big brakes, IRS, 18x9, 20x10, center exhaust monster. It's a running driving work in progress, but little by little it's gets a closer to my vision. Name: image.jpg

Wow, it's absolutely incredible...great work! Welcome to FEP, I can't wait to see more pics of your car and watch you finish the restoration. That far has to turn a lot of heads everywhere it goes, it's awesome!!
    Cheers!

Wow, that's one nice looking car there! You have done a lot of work to it! That looks like a beauty of a garage to do the work in too!

    Welcome to FEP!

That's it? You give us a great lead in and all we get is one picture? Really? Just kidding, well sort of... It does look great from what I can see. When you get a chance throw up some more pics and show that baby off. Oh and welcome to FEP.

Yes it is! The engine and front brakes came from a 2004 Mach1. The IRS is out of 2001 Cobra. Sorry about the teaser pic, but I registered on his site using my iPhone. I will post more picture of the car and my progress. Thanks for the warm welcome.

    Welcome to FEP!
Thanks! I've done everything on this car down to building my own engine harness. I think the only thing I didn't do myself was program the SCT chip the remove the PATS from the ECM.

Welcome to FEP, Curtis. That center exhaust exit looks like it should've come from the factory that way.

Thanks! I'm not sure about the other lower 47 states, but I rarely see any Fairmont/Zephyr's still on or off the road in Colorado. I'm not saying their rare, I just think most of them have been crushed. My goal is to find a clean box top and make it my street/strip car. Good luck in your search to exspand your herd.

We've got to talk sometime. I've got a '79 Futura with a '98 Cobra 4-cammer and I've heard there's another Futura with a '99 Cobra in the Phoenix, AZ area. Then there's an FEP member with a boxtop Fairmont running an '03 Cobra in Aberdeen, SD.

I agree! I had plans to keep the stock paint scheme and colors, but I want to go all out on this car. With all the stuff I've already done I think I wouldn't feel right keeping the same paint job.

I'd be happy to swap fairmont tech. Message me and we can set it up.

Wow, I LOVE your car! It's pretty much what I would have done if I'd had everything I wanted! I'm super jealous of your drivetrain and IRS. Bravo, sir.
