I don't like it it looks like a salvator dalli painting. Like the current mustang sat next to a heater to long.
I think this is the end of the line for the little pony.

I disagree. Really like the new look and hopefully they got the car to lose a little weight and some size. Although the 2013 looks good it is too big and bloated a la the 71-73 cars.

love it! thanks for sharing.
I like it. It looks much better than other pictures I have seen. I remember when the sn95 Mustangs came out in 94, I hated them. I thought they were the ugliest thing I had ever seen. Almost 20 years later (wow it's been 20 years) they have grown on me and I like them.

Update - 2023 - Looking to buy 81 Mustang, 82/85/86 Mustang GT, and 79 - 86 Capri (No Sunroof). Not looking for all original/show cars or convertibles - I will be modifying. Would be nice if both were - Black Interior, PW, PL, AC, No - or very little rust. Motor/Trans/Axle not important. Options negotiable with price.
I like it too! It is just good to keep the Mustang name alive! There is a person who drives by me on the way to work and he has a GT500 that is Red and White stripes. The car that will do 200. It sounds so sweet!

I hope they get away from the '65-68 fastback look and bring back a proper quarter window. Something in the vein of a '69-70. Besides that, both of these concepts look pretty good to me. Better than the exact Aston Martin clone one the car mags were showing recently.

For me, I don't really like either one of them at all! Looks to much like a blend of a fusion and a focus

Would it be called "Persistence of Mustang" ??? LOL ---- but seriously, he's my favorite artist (off the subject).
Seriously? That's an interesting thought. I could see Mustang going through some kind of an evolution. Who knows?
Well ---- then (IMHO) you are a cool breed.
I have been having a very similar thought. Lately, I've been thinking that something NEW or ALMOST NEW needs to be in my garage ---- and, when my thoughts turned to Mustang, my next thought was that I'd wait on the 2014s because, if it changed drastically, that would likely affect the prices of the 2011-2013 model years. Great minds think alike.
WOW ---- I do, too.
I have a feeling that the next gen Mustangs will have a Fusion Flavor with some Focus thrown in ---- and that ALL FORDS will have some Aston Martin vibe to them. Just my 2¢.
I like the blue one. They just need to lose what looks like chrome trim around the side window.

As long as they don't lose too much of their identity, I think they will keep their popularity. The current Mustang's look like a Mustang. It's like the resurgence of the Challenger; it looks like a Challenger to me. The new Camaros don't look like Camaros. I don't even want to comment on the 'new' Dart.
<sigh> I'm probably in the minority, but if the 2014 Mustang ends up being saddled with that Fusion
grille, Ford will have confirmed my suspicions that the current management is beyond clueless.
I look at these "FusionStang" photos with the same utter disdain I formerly reserved for the Probe.
Think about all the various generations of Mustangs, and and consider how Mustang has always had
it's own styling DNA. It's been one of the hallmarks of Mustang that it was allowed to go it's own way.
Sure, it was -built- on borrowed platforms, but the 1964 1/2 Mustang looked nothing like a Falcon
(at least on the outside). The same held true with the '79 which doesn't look anything like a Fairmont.
OK I'll grant there was the jellybean-influenced '94-'98 models, but I'll also say that to my eye, those
were some of the least attractive Mustangs ever made.
Consider what a mess Chevrolet made of the current-gen Camaro, by forcing it to carry so many
cues from the Chevrolet style book, all in the name of "brand management". The Camaro is an utter
mess, inside and out.
Appears the disease has now taken firm root at Ford. It's sad to say, being one that has always bled
Ford blue, but every year I seem to respect Ford just that much less, to the point that I really can't see
myself ever buying a new car from them again.

Funny about the grille, thought it looked familiar and then I saw one on the road. I wish they change that in the final design. I don't like it either. Love the rear end though.
Agreed. I really like the car's lines. And I like the Fusion grille too, just not on a Mustang.
It occurs to me that if Ford really wants to build something on the Mustang platform that looks
like a Fusion, they should, 4-doors 5.0, rear drive and all. Call it, I dunno, Interceptor maybe?
Lord knows the Taurus has been pretty much just as sale-proof as it was when it was called
500, so there's definitely room in the lineup for an uber-Fusion.
