    Default 2024 Detroit Autorama

Good to see clean shiny real cars again. Winter has been dry and mild. Most cars not out cruising yet.

Did not attend but other family members and friends did. Missed out on both days being too darn lazy.
Long day they are. Eat 11am,, drive, park, then walk a good mile in the show with your coat.
Show tickets were 27, parking 20 on up.
Friends stay till the end of the show Sunday to watch the drive-able cars leave out the back door.
They still search for the rare free downtown Detroit street parking spot.

Good opportunity to inspect ideas and work. Bicycles, toys, motorcycles add more things to see.

Youngest bro saw his Willys racecar. Sold it everything was new almost complete w/o engine/trans.
    New owner finished it.

Former original owners of our old neighborhood corner Sunoco had cars at the show.
Brought 2 drag race cars and one restored 1947 Ford Convertible shown in link below.
Heard they want to buy back the station they built in 58 but owner wont resell.

Across the street neighbor Ron had a black sidepiped Austin Healy with an LT-1.
Grandson built a Cobra in his honor for the show. His aunt (Gene's daughter) went with my sis and bro Sat.
Grew up together in the 60's same subdivision same schools.
The special lifetime memories inspiring us to start and continue to own and work on performance cars.
Good old sort of peer pressure from our elders that worked hard to make early drag racing history.
    'The Bizarre Ford Super Mustang'
"A year before the appearance of the life-changing Comets, Ford contracted Logghe to create a futuristic concept-race car they called Super Mustang. The streamlined body, reportedly a Larry Shinoda design, was actually a dragster/Funny Car hybrid."
