    Default 1986 Red Dominator

Just wanted to post an update on this car. It is the red Dominator that was previously owned by Chris Lott, so many of you know the condition of the car. Took me a bit to get done, but the car had some minor interior work done (headliner), and a complete rebuild of the motor. We decided to do the motor "right" (this car is a keeper for me), so we went with high end internals, but kept a 100% factory appearance. The car has an almost stock idle, but runs very well. Should be very low maintenance for another 70,000 miles. To you guys, the only thing that appears different is we went with the Goodyear repro tires. Got the car out today and rinsed it off. Should get it really clean in the next week or so. Didn't realize the photos were blurry. I'll get some better ones posted when we really clean the car up...

Nice! Would like to see the list on what you did with the engine! This is one of the few Dominators that can be traced from beginning to end. Glad to see it has gone to a good home!

Here from the 2009 Dominator reunion at Fordfest is the cars original salesman, the 1st & 2nd owners, and Chris Lott(02Z06). Later in the day another former owner made an appearance.

Did you know you had to rebuild the motor before you got it? What happened to it that it needed a rebuild? Quite frankly I havent seen too many of these 5.0L fail? Can you share the indicators prior to you finally rebuilding her? Was it drop in oil, pressure, rod knock, main journal bearings?
Any insight would be great. I've seen basic original blocks go well into the 200k miles range without rebuilds.

It turned out great, as I've said before, a beautiful car!
