    Default My 83 Mustang

Here is my 1983 Mustanbg GL. Picked it up on 7/2. Yesterday my son and I started the tear down. 42,000 1 owner car. Changing the front nose to a 79 so I can use my 6" to the window cowl hood. Should have paint on it in a few months. Looking foward to getting it to the track soon.

CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT THE FRONT RIMS ARE OFF OF???

1979 to 1985 Ford Mustang, most likely 79 to 83. If the tires are 190/65 390, they are stock 79 to 82, if they are 220/55 390, they re likely to be ex Mustang GT 4-BBL. The rim is stock to both sizes.

The 1983 5.0 Capri, 80 to 82 Thunderbird ran a different rim, but the bigger 220 55 390 tires came out first in the Tbird.

There are four 390 mm x 150 mm Alloy Wheel Fox car wheels listed in the Holander Interchange, plus two more pip squeek smaller 365 TRX rims made for the US and Mexican market small front drive cars

    the ALY01154U10 "1154"

The normal 79 to 85 Mustang TRX

    the ALY01158U10, "1158" (My favorite)

The 80 to 82 Tbird, 83 Capri and later 83 Fox Fairmont/LTD TRX rim, always for 220/55 390 tires

    and the 1983-1987 ALY01309U10 "1309"

The Brave New Birds 83 to, what 87? Tbird TRX

    I'm not certain about the fifth, a front drive 1984 Ford Tempo/ Ford EXP 365 mm x 135 mm Alloy WheelALY01350U10 "1350".

And that means you could even put 365mm x 135mm, 4 Lug, 4.25" Bolt Pattern, 41.4mm Offset Ford EXP/Mexican Mustang/Mercury LN7 1238 wheels on it, a sixth option for factory Ford:-)

But then, its a 928 Porsche knock off missing an extra hole...

Congrats on the new ride. Keep everyone posted with a build thread. You've got some great potential there.
