First time at the track

This past weekend u went out to the track for the first time ever to actually race. My first pass was a 16.38 at 91. I completely screwed up the launch, the second pass was a 15.4 at 92, and then my last pass was a 15.2 at 91. Not too bad for a basically stock 85 with 167k miles. I feel that I could get high 14's how she sits if I can get out of the hole faster.

There is a whole bunch more in a "basically stock" set up. Gears, good clutch, recurve dizzy, Carb work (primary and secondary side), headers, slicks and a intakemanifold put me almost into the 12's in 1990. Now my 83 basically has everything I mentioned but I dont have times for it and never will. Its a stock looking 83 GT vert but hidden behind a stock looking, original looking motor is 47 extra cubes and 390 gears..........So if I were to run it, then it would not be a fair comparison........ (easy 11's though)

Get some lower bars. Lakewood Traction Action's work really well.

I wonderd how these stock engines would run.Mine would be real slow whith 273 gears,
