    Default 86#009 Saleen

    UPDATED WITH MOST RECENT PICS:

Finally got rid of the smoked tail lights:

I just thought I'd share some pictures here of my New Project. Its 86#009.
I had some info and pics over at the Research section but didn't want to clog it up with pics since I think it belongs here instead.
It has 87 Saleen front air dam and rear bumper.(for now)
    5 lug set up(maybe temporary)
    Eagle alloy wheels(Will replace ASAP)
Hooker headers(undecided if I'm going back to stock)
    Magnaflow Exhaust(sounds ok)
Aftermarket steering wheel(looking for the "Wolf" one)
    Aftermarket Stereo
Recovered Front Seats( Going with Grey GT ones)
    Needs A Lot of TLC.
    Rebuilt T5.
And Still finding out more things on the car. Seller knew very little about this car.
Lots of Work ahead for this car but it should be fun.

    Here they are:

This is when i first saw her:

    Almost home:

I finally crawled under the car and snapped a few pictures.
    I'll post them later.
It still has Racecraft springs on all Four corners.
    Front has some Motorcraft Struts
    Koni Rear shocks.

You mention looking for a Wolfe steering wheel. Are you sure the car came with one? From what I know, in 86 they all a but a very few came with Momo Veloce wheels. The very few that didn't have the Momo Veloce came with another type of Momo called a Master. My 86 that came with a Momo Master steering wheel.

For your sake I hope that it didn't come with a Wolfe. They are extremely rare, I have yet to see one for sale anywhere. And I don't think Wolfe is still making them or if their in business still.

All the best with the restoration. Happy to see another one being saved!

I'm still in the process of confirming that it did. Early numbered Saleens used 85 Saleen parts. Since my 86 is #009 it probably did. It for sure came with the 85 3 piece front end. And i already have a lead to a "Wolf" steering wheel Thanks to a Member here. I'm waiting to get a few pictures of it.

And Thanks to all for all the positive feedback.

Any one know if 86#007 & 008 are still around?

    Update:

I took out the front and rear seats to wash the carpet.
I also switched out that ugly shift knob for a temporary Steeda one and I also Ordered The Momo Veloce Steering wheel. Waiting for the Brown truck to arrive

Heres some Before and After pictures.

    And After:

The rear right side still need some more cleaning but overall it looks tons better.

I'm surprised you didn't pull up the carpet and hunt for the build sheet.
