Congrats on the purchase. I was actually thinking about buying that one when I saw it on Craigslist. I talked to the owner for a bit, he said he had a white Capri for sale too. Have you fixed the fuel leak?

1986 mustang coupe 351w svo intake same as performer, hei dizzy, edelbrock performer cam, gear drive, WC t-5, pro 5.0 shifter, aluminum driveshaft, sn95 8.8 w/373's, weld wheels.
1989 Mustang coupe. 87 non HO 302 performer intake 600 holley carb, fms shortys, 94 gt catted hpipe and tailpipes no mufflers. aod, 8 point cage. awaiting a mild gt40 block and paint
1994 Ranger. 97 exploder block and heads, 4 barrel intake holley 600 carb, 89 f150 5 speed, 3:45s out back.

Looks like a great project!
The rust is repairable, but you will want to make sure you get all of it cut out. I would recommend removing the rear interior quarter panels and make sure you get everything cut out, cleaned, treated, etc. before you paint and put it back together. Just remember that rust never sleeps and if you leave even a small trace it will eventually come back.

its finally in a garage, torn down complete now, removed motor and engine bay clean and been re working the trunk lid as i never liked what i did before, its going to paint this week parts list getting longer by the day..... going to sydney for a month in july to see friends and family and to get some more parts that i dont need just some trim

Nice car, this is the best source of info and many great car guys. I was on here years ago and got distracted with kids and work. Im back and still own a 82 black magic 5.0 t-top car i am slowly restarting my project.MB
