Default I customized the dash in my 86 GT

Hi guys, I wanted to share what I did to my dash over the past week. My dash was fading and cracking in the cracking the usual areas. I have tweeters in the dash. It got me thinking if I made small tweeter grills and cover the center grill. I sanded the dash down and used body filler to cover the grill and customize the left and right speaker grills. I cut an old speaker grill to use. I also smoothed out some areas. I used rubberized gravel guard to get the texture. I then spot primer on top to smooth it out a bit and painted it. I have happy with the results.

Same here, Scotty. I bought the blue dashpad from Darran in Canada. I need to get the proper dye / paint before it goes into my Vaquero-colored Ghia.

Looks good. What did you use to prep the dash before applying the filler?
    Was there any adhesion issues?

    Nice work.
Awhile back I tried dying my dash with not so good results. Not only did it not cover very well, the dash ended up VERY shiny and the reflection in the windscreen drove me nuts.
The second time around I went with Laquer interior paint and was very pleased with the result, ended up with a matte finish, which in my opinion is the only type of finish a dash should have.

I used an adhesion promoter to the dash before anything.I also sanded it. I had no adhesion issues at all.
