Look at that instrument cluster. Does it get any more spartan/utilitarian than that?

I love the interior, especially those seats. It's like a double whammy with a 70's color and pattern. They just don't make um like that anymore. I think someone here needs to buy this car and if you're short on cash they can finance you. Can you imagine making payments on this thing? If you could get a 72 month note your car payment would be like 8 bucks a month (lol).
    Cheers!

That is until you see the interest. No banks would give me a loan for my zephyr. Being that it was my first car, i didn't have $2500. The loan place got me with %25.

I had pretty much that same car. It was a 1971 Mercury Comet. Same color and trim. But did not have A/C and had a tray instead of a glove box. My girlfriend broke the tray one night when we were watching planes at the airport. Took it to the prom. Nobody rented limos back then.

Body work must have been cheap in 1975. After two previous accidents, this photo is from the third accident for this car. Knocked the motor off the mounts, bent the drive shaft, spun the car around and wrecked the rear quarter as well. Allstate had it fixed and poorly painted, paint flaked off, painted again poorly, so I painted it red with a white top in 1976 and put in a Mustang engine another 6 cylinder. In January, 1978 it was totaled in the Great Blizzard of 1978, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Blizzard_of_1978 and I ordered the Zephyr. Was a great car while it lasted.
Lots of FREE F/Z info on my site.

    That's a sweet, clean Maverick.

I admire your courage to post those 70's vintage prom pics. I'm not going to post mine....

Too bad about your Comet, wouldn't it be cool to have today. I also was in the Great Blizzard of 78.

I wonder if I could still get carpets in that color. Other than that, the interior looks pretty good.

As cool as it would be to have this one, it would be doubly cool to have it AND a matching Comet.
