    Default Lowering question

So I got sve lowering springs, I ended up getting the fronts on the car yesterday, my front end now sits level with the rear, I'm just wondering if my stock rear springs are sagging, and if I put the lowering rear springs on if it will sit about the same, I like how it sits now and I don't want the rear any lower. Pics are in my build thread. Thanks!

It will settle a bit after driving but unless they are only supposed to lower the car an inch or so I would think you would see a difference. When I put B springs in my 85 I couldn't get the floor jack out up front. Also some cars didn't come from the factory with front lower spring isolators and if you put them in it will raise the ride height. Poly spring isolators tend to slightly raise the ride height too.

Measure the distance from the ground to wheel well lip, drive it around for a few days and see if it settles, which it should. Stock rear springs will sag with age so you might not have to change them if your happy with the height.

I'm happy with the height, I'm just not sure if sagging rears could cause any issues...?

Look at it this way... the natural sagging you have in the rear is almost the same as the lowering effects of new lowering springs. If the old springs are sagging 1.5 inchs and you add the lowering springs which are 1.5 inchs... its the same. As long as the sag is the same on both sides there shouldnt be a problem other then a rougher ride.

The sag is the same, I'm gonna wait to do the rears until I get control arms and what not seeing as how it'll be the same, if not a little higher.

I would do the rears so you have a matched set. You want to have a matched set as far as spring rates go. Firming up the fronts and leaving originally softer and now sagging rears isn't going to do you any favors. It takes abut 15 minutes a side to change the rears. I'd change them, drive it a while and see what you think.

That's not what I would call a good stance, should be level or a little higher in the rear, did you put in new isolators, if not that should help. As for settling it didn't happen for me
here's to the freakin' weekend,I'll drink to that

New bbk poly isolators all the way around. The springs are said to drop 1.2 inches up front and 1 inch in the back... The car has always sat with a reverse rake since I got it. I just figured the rears were saggy but they weren't....

Mine did not settle either, but the rake is just about right on all corners. Even tho your old springs have a different spring rate I'd put them back on. Do you have any pics so we can see what it looks like? Heres mine with Eibach Sportline springs.

Yeah I have a couple I can put up, the thing is its not the springs causing it as it was an issue before the new springs... I assumed the stock rears were just sagging.

Sorry misread your post and thought you meant to put all 4 stock springs back on.

Just the rear if you think the sve springs dropped it too much. Even with sag the old rears could have the height your looking for... but go for a long drive and see if the front drops. Some people claim that once settled the front do indeed come down and equal out with the rear.

I think it just might be how they sit stock... It's like a 2 finger gap up front and one finger gap out back... I'll post pics soon

Could be, the wheel well is larger in the front compared to the back. Bigger gap in front because the wheel has more travel. I measured the height of the wheel wells before and after adding the Eibach kit and it did drop it as advertized. Also measured from the ground to the rockers, front and back to see if the rake was the same, it was.

That could help! Give it some time and see if you like it in a few days and go from there.

I like it! The rear is perfect but that front end has to go down abit, 1-1.5". After a few days if it hasn't settled start cutting those fronts down. Was there a noticeable difference in spring height in the front? Did you do a side by side comparison when you took the stockers out?
