Default annoying sound from my clutch?

I just started driving w/ the windows down again, so I don't know how long it's been happening.

I get this high pitched "chirping" (only way I can describe it) when the car is in gear.

Not too loud, but annoying with the windows down.

If I just gently tap my foot on the clutch pedal, it stops until I change gear again.

    Is it a stretched cable???

    Thanks,
    Jim P.

Do you still have factory cable and quadrant? Adjustable ones set with freeplay on the throwout bearing will chirp.

Its one or the other, you could put a good aftermarket quadrent and cable on it, which IMO it needs anyway. If that doe not fix it, its the throw out bearing

What brand is the bearing? Not to sound like I'm beating the drum for ford parts but some of the tob that come with clutch kit are not that great. I have one new a new one that came with a RAM clutch on the shelf now, put a ford one in and called it a day.

One the fox mustangs the TOB is preloaded against the clutch diaphragm fingers, it alway spins, a low quality one will wear out pretty quickly.

I used the one that came w/ the RAM clutch kit.

I really think it's the cable though, like I said, if I bearly apply pressure to the pedal, taking up the 1/8" of slack before the pedal pulls the cable, it stops.

It very well could be, just throwing out suggestions. I hope a cable fixes it, a lot easier then dropping the transmission.
