in the photo you can see the lower door sticker(only put on the track cars) and the shaker scoop & asc/mclaren orange rims (added after the race by a owner before Steve).

if you stop by again, please forward him my ph# & email. he should remember me as we met in person & have talked on the phone a few years back.

Jason, Steve is who I spoke to. I asked him if this car was registered on your web site and he told me that it was. I'll be sure to reconnect you guys. Whatever happens, I would certainly like to see this car saved.

I just got to see the car in person folks. And, Steve was right... It's rough! Still worth saving though, IMO. Pictures to follow this evening. Read about this particular car here: http://grandprix.mercurycapri.com/ca...-%20PACE%20CAR

Ok, now that we see the carnage, we need details. Rust through, price, etc.

Yikes! It's still an important and cool piece of fox history. If the owner is willing to sell I would still try and buy it. It's going to be one extensive restoration and who knows how much of the actual car can be saved, but again, it's worth making the effort.

How cool are all those extra pace car decals, and those red wheels? Too bad the owner didn't think to take some kind of care, rather than let the Florida weather kick this cars tail.

Good luck Motorcity, I hope you get the opportunity to do something positive with her.

This one is WAY more than I am capable of fixing up at this time. I had a few others interested too but they can't see a return on investment either. Sad but, we have to pass.

Man I need a shop / building. This would make a nice addition next to the Watkins Glen Pace Car.

I keep telling myself to reduce inventory. Then cars like this one and the 7B SVO vert project pop up.

Does the collecting bug ever go away?

There is only one way to get rid of the fox collecting bug, and hopefully that doesn't happen to any of us for a long, long time. I think Sweet'86GT's tag line says it all..."lets face it, foxes are an addiction."

I agree that the Capri would look awesome in your collection. Someone very talented (and/or wealthy) needs to snag that car. It has needs, expensive and time consuming needs.
    Cheers!

This car is for sale. This is a rare piece of Ford history. The owner just wants it to go to a good home & be repaired back to its former glory. if your just looking to fix it up half ass & flip it for a profit, this car is not for you. the car is not as bad as it looks in the photos, a couple of body panels will need to be replaced (hood & maybe a door). the car has some of the original ASC items still in usable condition. 1/4 panel is fixable. drive train still original. battery is dead but car still runs!
price is right for the serious person. again, buyer would be someone who is looking to own one of the rarest fox-bodied cars made & restore back to its original condition.
dont let this car turn into the PPG mustang.
interested parties can PM me. unlike others, i am not trying make money from this, just want it to go to the right person & be saved. i would be willing to help whoever purchases this with orginal photos, documentation, original decals/parts & info to restore back to original shape.
