    There is a similar connector, in the same area, in my Mustang.
    When i pull the cluster, it always disconnects.
    Have to remember to reconnect it before buttoning up the cluster.
    On my car, it is part of the low fuel led light in the console graphic display.
    LED stays lit if the plug is not connected.
    Attaches onto temp gauge mounting post- possible it is a ground wire.
    what, why, dunno.
