I'll have to check with the crew, last year was fun but kinda sad. We were talking about FFW this past weekend and had mixed reactions on returning.

Judging by the attendance from last year most have not been to FFW in years. The reaction I got from almost everyone who went last year is they wouldn't go again. I'd love to see it become a success again but I'm not so sure it will happen.

Who lens what's your feelings on returning this year? If we have a nice crew like last year then we can make it a FFW.

    Wow-

"On Paper" it certainly looks interesting.

I remember the "'Ford Nationals" at Maple Grove from 1986-1988 and they were pretty cool at that time.

Still have the license plate frame on my 1988 TC -

As you say - With the right crew of folks it could be a FFW >

I would consider it if there were enough Fox-A-Que folks going.

Can you tell me what was wrong with last years show. they haven't had the show for a few years and we are trying to build it up again.

My only complaint was the attandance really,I know it was the first year back and all. It seems a lot of people I spoke with after last years event didn't even know about it. I'd love to see it bring the crowds like the old days.

Regarding EVIL' s comment as to attendance.

And I ask this in a positive context.

How far in advance has this event been advertised ?

The reason for my question -

Over the last two years I have become involved in the promotion of youth lacrosse tournaments. A highly competitive and growing sport segment.

We have found that a minimum of 9 months of advertising on key internet sites, enthusiast publications, trade journals as well as attending other tournaments as a vendor together with the equally important "word of mouth " communication between participants gives us the necessary exposure. All of these items are essential to attracting a good turnout and thus putting on a great program for our participants

It's about getting on folks agendas and ultimately schedules as soon as is possible.

    Just offering my observations -

Again in a positive context and based on building, and in the case of one event that we took over management of, re-building a previously well attended tournament that had failed to update it's advertising program.

As stated in my previous post I think that the Flyer is nicely done and that the Event looks like it should be a great weekend.

I first posted this back in March when we found out the date. The flyers were just done. This is no fault of our club we are just helping with the parking. Maple Grove does most of the advertising and the flyers. They are trying to get it as big as there super chevy show

Not pointing fingers - Just offering observations and suggestions

Perhaps Maple Grove just needs to up their advertising effort.

That said looking at the flyer I would like to see the "Cobra Jet Shootout" occupy a more prominent place as the New CJ's are among NHRA's hottest , and most popular, Late Model Stock and Super Stocks.

went to the ffw at rockingham this month, stayed one hour and left, might have seen 15 show cars, maybe 6 people drag racing, 4 people selling at the swap meet, I was hoping it would grow from last year, but it was worse, met two guys leaving on the way in, they gave us a parking pass, then said they didn't even get out of their truck.

We had just a couple CJ's running last year here in STL. I hope the race get's better now that it's in my backyard. At this point I'd rather have the NMRA in town but can't win them all I gues.

St. Louis ended up being slow on attendance. The racing was ok and the car show wasn't much either. A focus club dominated the car show. Hell FFW didn't even bring T-shirts to sell. We only had one local vendor that sold one item, but is a driveline specialist. I'll go again next year to race but I wouldn't travel. I also heard that some of the NMRA events have been light this year. The economy is still killing America and it's racing/shows.

Not a bad show at St. Louis this year but not as good as past shows. I was surprised that the Bow Ties & Mopars outnumbered the Fords. The Pro Mod cars were pretty cool though.

no per-registers they don't offer it. The car show will be over on the pit side this year. I know Revall will be there to offer kids a model to build

We had a great day Saturday 128 cars. But today we had a rain out. Still gave away plaques to those that did brave the rain
