Default Other foxes with P71 or "cop" rims

Anyone running the Crown Vic cop car P71 steel rims on their fox? I just picked up a set of 17s and I'm thinking of running them on my Futura. I seen rxracer's red Fairmont and loved the rims on it. I'd love to see some pics of your fox with the steel wheels. Also, what kinda lug nuts do I need for the small flat caps?

Careful, I think these wheels in that link are from a late model charger, just with a ford center.

    What rims are these? Pictures?

I think those are Ford steelies, he just put charger caps on because they were the same diameter.

BTW, if you're going to run modern police wheels you're going to need 5 lug hubs.

If you read any of the text in the above posted link, you'll see that those wheels ltdscott put on are in fact Chrysler 300 wheels. The bolt pattern is slightly larger at 115mm compared to the Ford 114.3mm pattern. If I had the Chrysler wheels, I would run them.

Anyone else have pics of their fox (or someone else's) with the steelies?

What size wheels and tires on the LTD? Any fitment issues? Also, what are those holes on the bottom right of the stang front bumper?

Base model rims for late Mopars are very close, but have a bit more backspacing from what I understand. If anyone is looking for an option that tucks under the car a little better. Look for Mopars like Magnum and Charger with 17" rims that use hubcaps.

Yup, those are Dodge Charger / Chrysler 300 wheels that I had on my car. They have long since been sold. I've always wanted to try Crown Vic 17" steelies on my car, but have yet to do so.

Resurrecting this thread because I just picked up a set of the 2006-2011 crown vic 17" steelies. I did a quick test fit and they don't clear cobra 13" brakes up front. The offset is akin to 2005 & later mustangs. The rim size is 17x7.5. I am going to run spacers up front. 1/2" should do it. If not I will go to the 3/4" spacer and run longer studs. Out back I have a cobra irs, so the offset helps tuck the rim over the wider track of an irs. Bought center caps this morning. Now just need a set of trim rings. Tire size will be 225/50r17.

Will they clear the 13" brakes with the spacer?

I have a set of P71s for the next build (which is going to run big brakes) but I test fit them on the Marquis. I have short A-arms and they rubbed the coil overs but fit fine with 3/4" worth of spacers...tires are 235 width. I have 99+ brakes up front and it cleared fine.

The rust on the front wheel nicely matches the paint in the car!

Great minds... I like your marquis! Yeah. The wheels just make contact with the caliper at 2 points on my cobra equipped fox. I could grind a little off of the caliper but I figure I could use the extra front track width considering the rear track width. I don't have coilovers. Just a regular fox strut.

Hahahaha, that's awesome! The P71s I have are potentially lined up to go on the exact same wagon in the exact same colour and paneling! Just have to make an offer and buy it.

I hadn't thought about white wheels on that combo...could look pretty good. Definitely interested to see how it turns out.

I think the white wheels would look best with some thin trim rings...

Interesting that they don't clear the Cobra brakes since the '05 GT wheels do (although I'm running 1/4" spacers).

Yeah. Much love your car! I have the 05 wheels on there without spacers and they are really close to making contact, but they clear, just barely. This may be an excuse to run 2000 cobra r brakes. Haha!

Thanks for the compliment! Yeah, mine barely clear as well but it's a fixed distance so no worries.
